Abstract The polymerization of acrylonitrile initiated with the imidazole-copper (II) complexes was studied in dimethylsulfoxide solution. The ability of the complexes to initiate polymerization seems to depend on their anion. 2-Substituted imidazole-copper (II) complexes of the type, CuL4X2 (L = imidazole as ligand and X = anion), were also found to initiate vinyl polymerization. From the data of electronic spectra in dimethylsulfoxide solution, the initiation mechanism is discussed in terms of the formation of the active species by the interaction of the complex with monomer molecules.

主鎖中に金属フタロシアニン環(M-Pc, M=Co(II))を有するポリウレタン樹脂を合成し, その特質および成型性について調べた. 既報1)によりエチレングリコール, ジエチレンエーテルグリコール, 1,6-ヘキサンジオール, p,p′-ビフェノールを用いて, エステル置換基の異なるコバルト(II)フタロシアニンポリカルボン酸エステル誘導体を合成した.次いで, エステル置換基の異なるコバルト(II)フタロシアニンビスカルボン酸エステル誘導体およびコバルト(II)フタロシアニンテトラカルボン酸エステル誘導体と1,6-ヘキサンジオール(1, 6HD), 1,6-ヘキサンジイソシアネート(1, 6HDI)を溶液中で反応させ金属フタロシアニン環を主鎖に有する新しいポリウレタン樹脂を合成した. 得られたポリマーの熱的特質, 成型性について調べた. その結果, コバルト(II)フタロシアニンの導入により, ポリウレタン樹脂の分解温度は50°C以上上昇し, 融点以上で熱処理した樹脂は, 安定な相分離構造に変化することがわかった. また, 得られたポリウレタン樹脂は繊維, フィルムなどに容易に加工できることがわかった.
