硝化促進型循環変法における浮遊汚泥の脱窒性能に及ぼす有機物負荷 (BOD-SS負荷) と水温の影響を検討した. 単位汚泥量あたりの脱窒速度KDNは, 汚泥内に蓄積される有機物量Aとその代謝速度定数κの積に比例する式KDN=(k/m)・A(mは定数) で表現できる. 水温が12~27℃の範囲においては水温が低いほどκが小さくなり, その結果としてAが増加するためKDNはあまり変化しない. 一方, Aは有機物負荷にほぼ比例するため, KDNは有機物負荷にほぼ比例するとみなせることが明らかになった.
