Mixing properties in the continuous solid solution of the system AgNO3-NaNO3

Abstract The binary phase diagram for AgNO 3 -NaNO 3 has been previously reinvestigated and shows, in particular, a continuous subsolidus solid solution. The mixing enthalpies in this solid phase determined by solution calorimetry at 474 K are presented here. The results are fitted by the Van Laar model.

NaRb2(NO3)3 nitrate is the only intermediate compound in the system NaNO3 + RbNO3. It has, according to a thermal study, three allotropic forms. The structure of the low-temperature form is presented.

The structure of silver caesium dinitrate, AgCs(NO 3 ) 2 , consists of NO 3 - layers perpendicular to the [100] direction. The Ag + and Cs + cations are located between the layers, forming AgO 5 and CsO 12 polyhedra The NO 3 - groups are planar.
