Pressure dependent 1H-NMR-spectroscopy was used with the aim to study the microscopic mechanism of gas storage in different carbon materials. Investigations were performed on activated carbon, arc discharge produced soot, carbon-nanotubes and carbon-nanofibers in comparison to metal hydrids. We rebuilt a standard NMR-spectrometer, which allows hydrogen pressure dependent measurements up to 100 bar. Interesting parameters are the line width and the line position in comparison to pure hydrogen gas. Carbon-nanofibers exhibit large line shift and line width.
