44.95 may not seem excessive anymore for an imported book, but it is still unlikely that this volume will find its way onto many bookshelves in Australia outside university and college libraries. The quality of the printing is certainly not commensurate with the price and the book constitutes more a source book than a contribution to the conceptualization of teachers’ industrial behaviour. However, it must be said that this is consistent with the editor’s explicit intentions. Thus it will be interesting to see if the promised follow-up volumes appear and whether the rich possibilities for analysis provided in this collection are exploited.
