Hua Meng; Hua Wang; Jianjun Wang; Jian Xin Xu; Su Mei Liang; Hong Juan Li

The concept of logistics system simulation and the basic applications of Witness are introduced in this paper. By a specific example, the simulation model is found about the production process of steel logistics system by Witness. The relationship of production process and computer simulation is illustrated, further, the simulation model is ran and outcome is obtained. Based on the example of the production process of BF-BOF region in iron and steel enterprise simulation model, the method of the production process with WITNESS is analyzed. By setting the parameters to achieve the purpose of the actual production process is optimized. Finally, more feasible solution is put forward by simulation analysis

Hong Juan Li; Jianjun Wang; Hua Wang; Hua Meng

Aiming at the power plant energy consumption and gas balance influenced serious with the affluent gas fluctuate frequently of byproduct gas system in an iron and steel industry, which is very difficult to be modeled using the mechanism modeling, a forecast trend sequence of the gas supply HP-ENN model was established based on the characteristics of self-provided power plant energy utilization and the properties of HP filter, Elman neural network. The prediction results using practical production data show that using the proposed HP-Elman method that sample A 48, 60 points trend forecast average relative error are 0.37%, 0.47% and sample B 48, 60 points trend forecast average relative error are 0.82%, 1.03%,which can effectively for the trend forecast of self-provided power plant gas supply with a reliable prediction capacity.

Simulation and optimization of material flow system for “the mode of one open ladle” in BF-BOF region

Sumei Liang; Jianjun Wang; Hua Wang; Hua Meng

For the purpose of making the waiting time less and production capacity more in “the mode of one open ladle” which is in the blast furnace (BF) - basic oxygen furnace (BOF) region, a new method based on queuing theory and material flow simulation(using Witness software) is carried out in this work. The indicators comparisons between single-queue and multi-queues have been made; it could be found that the indicators of single-queue queuing system were better than those of the multi-queues system. Whats more, on the basis of single-queue, according to the simulation experiments in BF-BOF region of a steel plant, the queuing simulation systems which were used to describe the relationships among the numbers of HMCL (hot metal charging ladle) s in cycle, production capacity and average waiting time were studied. The results imply that the type of queuing and HMCLs in cycle have effects on the waiting time and production capacity. The optimization model has been developed to obtain the optimal numbers of HMCLs in cycle with less waiting time and higher production capacity.

Study on the Electricity Generation in Steel Production Concerning the Recovery of Waste Heat and Energy

Jianjun Wang; Hong Juan Li; Hua Meng

A lot of energy resources such as coal, electricity and oils, are consumed during the steel production, and simultaneously a variety of waste heat and energy is produced. If most of the waste heat and energy can be recovered by the self-supply power plant and other generating devices, then the electricity consumed by the factory can be supplied by itself, which can be called the “autarky mode of electricity”. The autarky mode of electricity can improve the recovery of the waste heat and energy, and thus reduce the energy consumption of an iron & steel factory. Based on the BF-BOF steelmaking routes, the energy-flow models for the electricity generating with waste heat and energy are constructed. The autarky modes of electricity of the factories with different production scales are put forward, and the contribution of the mode to energy saving and economic benefits is analyzed.

Simulation of M/M/1 Queue Model Based on WITNESS

Hua Meng; Hua Wang; Jianjun Wang

The techno-interface of BF-BOF region is an important stage that connects iron making procedure with steel making procedure in the production line, acting as a connecting link between the preceding and the following procedure. It is also the key region to optimize the iron making and steel making process as a whole. In this paper, based on queuing theory method for BF-BOF region simulation, a static simulation method is presented to realize the simulation of dynamic system, WITNESS is used to simulate the M/M/1 queue model. The number of different transportation ladles has been analyzed to influence the BF-BOF region, the best ladles were obtained in order to improve production rate. The results show that the modeling method can reflect the complex system characteristics of BF-BOF region and provide the advice for system optimization.

Hua Meng; Hua Wang; Jianjun Wang; Jianxin Xu; Sumei Liang; Hongjuan Li

The paper introduces the application of software Witness, and discusses the cumulative effect of ladle caused by waiting time and the methods of using the software Witness in the simulative interface mode of “route with one open ladle from BF to BOF” in BF -BOF region. The author studies the factors to “bottlenecks” phenomenon in the modeling simulation and the factors to cumulative effect by waiting time of the ladle. Based on the results of model simulation, the author not only points out the measures to resolve this problem, but also proposes the ways to alleviate the cumulative effect through improvements by setting the parameter on the modeling simulative system.
