Abstract The 1986 evaluation of Nuclear Data Sheets for A=56 (87Hu04) has been updated using experimental nuclear structure data and decay data avilable before December 1991. The information for 56 Ti, 56 V, 56 Cr, 56 Mn, 56 Fe, 56 Co, 56 Ni, 56 Cu, and 56 Zn from various reaction and decay experiments together with their adopted levels and γ transition properties is summarized and presented.

High spin states in 159 Ho were populated in the reaction 152 Sm(11 B,4n) at 60 MeV. The rotational band based on the 7/2+ [404] Nilsson configuration has been established and the rotational bands based on the 7/2- [523], 1/2+ [411] and 1/2- [541] Nilsson configurations have been extended. The neutron band crossings of the various bands and the energy signature splitting of the 7/2- [523] bands are analysed in terms of the cranked shell model.

It is shown that there is no evidence for the existence of levels at 1312.41, 1485.67 and 1698.34 keV in152Gd and at 1436.65 and 1681.56 keV in152Sm, which were recently claimed to be observed in the decay of152Eu(3−, 15 y).

It is shown that reported coincidence relations which were used to establish the levels at 1624.07 and 1654.64 keV do not belong to the decay of 182Ta and thus these levels are not populated in the decay of 182Ta.
