The present study was undertaken to evaluate lipid nanoemulsions of cholesteryl-hexahydrophthaloyl-5-fluorouracil (CHHP-5-FU) to improve its therapeutic potential and to reduce adverse effects. CHHP-5-FU-loaded lipid nanoemulsions were prepared by high energy emulsification method and evaluated for droplet size, polydispersity index, zeta potential, refractive index and drug release. The drug release was found to be increased significantly by increasing the concentration of surfactants and decreasing droplet size & viscosity of formulations (P

The purpose of present study was to determine the mole fraction solubility of talinolol in self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS) and its oil phase components at various temperatures. An optimum SNEDDS formulation was prepared and characterized for thermodynamic stability, self-nanoemulsification efficiency, droplet size distribution, viscosity, refractive index and percentage (%) transmittance. The solubility of talinolol was determined by an isothermal shaking method and resulting data was analyzed by regression analysis. The experimental mole fraction solubility data was well correlated with empirical model and the modified Apelblat model at various temperatures. The mole fraction solubility of talinolol was found to be increased with increase in temperature in all samples. The mole fraction solubility of talinolol was found to be significantly higher in prepared SNEDDS than its oil phase components. The solubility data of this study could be a useful tool for the development of SNEDDS formulations of poorly soluble drugs.
