Citanest C14 has been shown to be degraded by liver and kidney slices. In vivo experiments demonstrate that metabolites are excreted in the urine and decarboxylation with excretion of C1402 has been demonstrated in the rat.

Abstract A unique 54-detector whole-body counter was used to follow the uptake, distribution and excretion of a single breath of halothane-82Br. In a compartmental analysis of the data with the SAAM program, the sum of two exponentials provided an excellent fit. One exponent probably reflects initial uptake and excretion; the second, distribution to viscera.
