The Utilization of Wonorejo Mangrove Ecotourism Area as a Contextual Learning Source

Wonorejo ecotourism area has not yet been utilized as a learning source. Regarding to this fact, this study was intended at investigating the suitability of Wonorejo ecotourism area as a learning source, and the effectiveness of Wonorejo ecotourism area as a learning source. This study was conducted under the research and development procedure proposed by Borg &Gall. The subjects of this study included 32 university students majoring Geography who were divided into A class as the experimental class, and B class for the control class. This study employed a quasi-experimental design of which data were obtained from interviews and tests. Validations were done by an expert of learning materials to see the suitability of the area for education and T-test was administered to see its effectiveness. This research showed that the Wonorejo ecotourism area is highly effective to be used as a contextual learning source for students with 90.0 % average score. As a learning source, Wonorejo ecotourism area is also effective to improve the learning achievement of the undergraduate students majoring Geography of 2014 academic year in the Geography of Tourism subject. Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning Dipadu Dengan Team Assisted Individualization untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa

The purpose of this study is to improve students’ achievement. This study is a classroom action research involving 33 students of Public Senior High School 3 Barabai at Barabai, South Kalimantan. The data were gained from the results of pre liminary, cycle I and cycle II. The result of the study strued that there was an improvement between pre liminary and cycle I. the mean score is 30,31%, but it was not enought to reach the classical criteria. meanwile, there was a better improvement from cycle i to cycle II the mean score was 12,12% it means that the application of problem based learning model combined whit team assisted individualization can improve students learning achivement. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang melibatkan 33 siswa di SMA Negeri 3 Barabai di Barabai, Kalimantan Selatan. Data diperoleh dari hasil pengambilan data awal, siklus I dan siklus II. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan antara pra siklus dan siklus I. Skor rata-rata adalah 30,31%, namun tidak cukup untuk memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan klasikal. Rata-rata, ada peningkatan yang lebih baik dari siklus I ke siklus II dengan skor rata-rata 12,12% artinya penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dipadu dengan Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Progressivity Punggawa-Sawi in Sustaining Flying Fish Resources on Culture Patorani Takalar District South Sulawesi Indonesia

Abstract Punggawa-sawi is a member in fishing communities patorani, specifically fishermen hunt flying fish and flying fish egg collectors. The purpose of this research is: (1) describe the role of punggawa-sawi in religious rituals before going to sea, and (2) describe the role of punggawa-sawi in the process of catching the flying fish and eggs. This type of research is qualitative ethnographic approach. The research location in Takalar and the subject of research is punggawa and sawi greens in conserving flying fish resources. Data retrieval is conducted through observation, interview and documentation. The validity of the data carried out through the technique of triangulation, member check and audit trail. The results of the study suggesting that the role of punggawa-sawi greens flying fish in preserving resources, seen in two forms namely: (1) a role in religious rituals for safety and respect for the ruler of the sea. The ritual performed in the District Galesong coastal and island Sanrobengi. The ritual is, anynyikko pakkaja, appakruru bale-bale, apparek kalomping, annisik biseang, and songkobala. (2) The role of punggawa-sawi in the process of fly fishing visible in the form of arrest strategies using traditional fishing gear pakkaja and bale-bale. Measures to preserve the flying fish resources namely by letting the eggs are maturing gonat to rebreed being a flying fish.
