This paper proposes a method of realizing band-notch characteristic in the UWB antenna and the low noise amplifier (LNA) such that the UWB RF receiver can fully suppress high-power interference signal in 5 GHz WLAN band. Two procedures of band-notching in RF signal reception are combined, and in fact, such a UWB RF receiver front-end has not been reported yet

In this paper, the frequency tunable antenna for T-DMB application is proposed. Since the proposed antenna has the small size of 10 x 30 x 3 mm , it can be installed in the body of the mobile handsets, televisions, etc. The radiator size is reduced by patterning the helical line on both sides of the substrate and adding an open-stub beside to the ground plane. In addition to this, utilizing a varactor with a proper biasing circuit makes it possible to satisfy all the T-DMB service bands of 7 channels with 6 MHz bandwidth each. The measured result reveals the validity of the proposed antenna by showing signal reception levels shifting with every resonant frequency variation.

In this paper, inverted-F and whip antenna combination for terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (T-DMB) communication with notebook computer is presented. An inverted-F antenna (IFA) was designed as an internal antenna for 200 MHz band (Korea T-DMB operating frequency band). The IFA can be modified to a whip antenna in weak-receiving signal area. The simulation and measurement results show that the IFA and whip antenna combination can cover Korea T-DMB frequency range on notebook computer. The real T-DMB reception test was performed. The bit error rate (BER) of the proposed antenna configuration is compared to the BER of external quarter wave-length whip antenna
