Abstract1,2,3-Tris(diethylamino)cyclopropenylium iodide (1) reacted with sodium polyphosphides to give sodium 3,4,5-tris(diethylamino)-1,2-diphosphacyclopentadienide (2) in high yields. Chemical behavior of compound 2 in the reactions with organic and organoelement electrophiles was studied and compared with that of sodium 3,4,5-triphenyl-1,2-diphosphacyclopentadienide.

GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT ABSTRACT Herein, we report a simple and effective route to synthesis of sodium 2,3,4,5-tetra(methylcarboxy)-monophospholide (1) based on the reaction of NaP5 with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate (DMAD).

GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT ABSTRACT A novel stable binuclear nitrosyl nickel(0) complex with bridging 3,4,5-tris(para-chlorophenyl)-1,2-diphospholyl ligands was synthesized and fully characterized by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The structure and stability of the obtained complex are compared with a similar complex with bridging 1,2,4-triphospholyl ligands.

A new representative of 1,2-diphosphacyclopentadienide anions containing 2-thienyl substituents at carbon atoms was synthesized by the reaction of sodium polyphosphides with cyclopropenylphosphonium salts. The specific features of the chemical behavior of this compound were revealed by studying the reactions with organic and heteroorganic electrophiles and with pentacarbonylmanganese bromide.
