In the paper 21 new bryophyte species for the flora of Croatia are presented. They originate from three regions in Croatia: Papuk Mt, Velebit Mt and Gorski kotar. For each species exact localities, habitats, and other data concerning conservation status, general distribution and distribution in the Balkans are provided.

Nomenclatural-Phytocoenological Analysis of the Association Potentillo Micranthae-Quercetum Petraeae Ass. Nova in Croatia Phytocoenological traits of forests of sessile oak in the area of Zrinska Gora were investigated in 2009. Phytocoenological research was conducted using a method of the Zürich-Montpellier School. A comparison was made with acido-thermophilic forests of sessile oak from central and north-western Croatia, then from Slovenia and the Mescek Mountains in Hungary. A statistical comparison was made by entering all the phytocoenological relevés into the Turboveg database. This was followed by a classical synthetic analysis of the phytocoenological relevés and a multivariate analysis using Syntax 2000 software. Average Ellenbergs values were calculated for each relevé with JUICE 6.3 software. Taking into consideration all the facts, it can be concluded that the newly established association Potentillo micranthae-Quercetum petraeae shows a high degree of independence and differentiation from other similar associations described to date. In relation to others, it is poorer in species, both in terms of the systematic categories to which it belongs and the number of elements from the orders of Fagetalia and Quercetalia pubescentis. Of the species occurring in acidophilic forests of sessile oak, Genista tinctoria, Chamaecytisus hirsutus and Dicranella heteromalla can be considered characteristic species, whereas Galium sylvaticum, Cephalanthera longifolia, Dianthus armeria and Viola alba can be termed differentiating species. The species Potentilla micrantha, Festuca drymeia and Luzula forsteri are very important for the structure, physiognomy and syndynamics of the association. It is subordinated to the alliance Quercion robori-petraeae, the order Quercetalia robori-petraeae and the class Querco-Fagetea. V letu 2009 smo preučevali fitocenološke značilnosti gozdov gradna na območju Zrinske gore. Raziskavo smo naredili z metodo Züriško-Montpellierske šole. Uvrščamo jo v zvezo Quercion robori-petraeae, red Quercetalia robori-petraeae in razred Querco-Fagetea.

This paper provides a comprehensive survey of the results of phytocoenological research into Alnus incana forests from the alliance Alnion incanae in the Dinarides. Stands from the south-eastern Dinar-ides (Alnetum incanae = Oxali-Alnetum incanae) were analyzed and compared with those from the north-western Dinarides (Lamio orvalae-Alnetum incanae). The comparison reveals significant differ-ences in the floristic composition and in the degree of differentiation – and particularly in the presence of the species of the Illyrian floristic geoelement. Focus was placed on the area of western Croatia where a geographic variant of Helleborus dumetorum had previously been de-fined within the association Lamio orvalae-Alnetum incanae. Two of its subtypes, Salix alba and Alnus glutinosa, were determined in our research. The former subtype thrives on occasionally flooded, moist sites, where the floristic composition is dominated by hygrophytes. The latter subtype grows on elevat-ed and drier terraces and is richer in mesophilous species from the surrounding zonal forests. A floris-tic-sociological comparison of the Lamio orvalae-Alnetum incanae with the related syntaxa indicates the presence of about fourty diagnostic species which accentuate its independence and the need to assess it at the level of an independent, regional association within the alliance Alnion incanae.

Where does Sedum cepaea L. (Crassulaceae) - one of the rarest species of Croatian flora - really grow? The distribution of Sedum cepaea in Croatia is limited to sciophilous or slightly heliophilous forest habitats in the zone dominated by Quercus petraea, developed on acidic types of soil above siliceous bedrock. We confirm a finding spot on Moslavačka gora and describe new localities on Zrinska gora (central Croatia). Two S. cepaea populations on Nikolino brdo [hill] in Topusko disappeared a century ago.
