Drift and proton transfer reactions of positive ions in methane parent gas

In table 2, the values of the C2 coefficient of formula (4), representing the best fits to the experimental mobilities of CH5+, C2H5+, C3H5+ and H3O+ in methane should be 1.36, 1.29, 0.863 and 1.98 respectively. The values in table 2 for all other coefficients remain unchanged.

SINGLE ELECTRON CAPTURE OF H+ IN MG IN THE ENERGY RANGE 0.5 TO 5.0 KEV

Absolute differential and total cross sections have been measured for the single electron capture of Ne+ in He at impact energies between 0.5 and 5 keV. Oscillations in the differential cross sections are interpreted as the envelope of the fast oscillations due to the interference of the scattering amplitudes. Total cross sections are in agreement with previous experiments.

A coincidence system for studying collisional ion dissociation: Application to H+3 in He

A simple coincidence circuit has been built and attached to conventional pulse counters to obtain the energy distribution of the coincident ion pair arising from the three‐body polar dissociation process H+3+He→H++H++H−. The coincidence circuit is based on TTL components and a solid‐state delay line. A method to derive the true coincidence H+–H− energy distribution is described, from which properties such as the inelastic energy loss and angle of proton ejection can be obtained.
