The paper presents an analysis of a one-semester technical course ldquoElectrical facilitiesrdquo. The goal of the paper is to show how a system of real-time knowledge testing at undergraduate level, using a radio-frequency clicker system and conventional knowledge assessment methods, was implemented on a single course at the University of Zagreb. Using statistical analysis, students are clustered in groups to show the influence of clickers on the student population. It is shown that clickers have a favorable impact on students and work in accordance with each studentpsilas abilities, as confirmed using conventional assessment methods.

The traditional role of hydro power plants was to reduce the total generation cost of the entire power system. Becoming independent and market oriented subjects, the value of water and positioning of hydro power plants on the energy market requires new scheduling solutions. This paper proposes a new model of the power system scheduling where hydro power plants have an active role as market participants. The idea is based on the existing model which observes only the behavior of thermal power plants. Case study includes several scenarios which demonstrate the optimal utilization of water resources with the goal of maximizing the profit of each hydro power plant in the cascade system. Each hydro power plant is considered to be a single independent entity in the market and is modeled as such in the proposed solution.

This paper presents a small electricity market study based on an agent-based power network simulator in deregulated conditions. A simple six node network is modelled in EMCAS to observe effects of transmission line outages and transmission congestion problems. The effects of price variations due to line outages are presented and discussed. Possible economic indexes for power system planning are also discussed.
