Transport of ore and overburden at the open pit mines represents the most important and the most complex process in the open pit excavation technology. Transport organization significantly affects the capacity of machinery for excavation and disposal, excavation productivity, as well as the ore production costs. This paper describes an attempt to select the most suitable transport system at the open pit mines from the safety and quality point of view. For that purpose, the EDAS method was used. Four types of transport systems were considered – truck transport, railway transport, belt conveyor and hydrotransport. It was found that, from the above mentioned aspect, the truck transport generally has the most favorable characteristics.

An approach to the evaluation of froth flotation reagents based on the use of the SWARA and WS-PLP methods

Dragisa Stanujkic; Dragan Milanović; Srđana Magdalinović; Ivana Jovanović

The selection of the most suitable flotation reagents is very important in the froth flotation process because the recovery of valuable minerals largely depends on the reagent regime. On the other hand, the particular characteristics of the ore excavated from different mine sites have their own specificity that should be taken into account in choosing the most appropriate reagents. Therefore, a proposal for forming a framework for selecting the most suitable flotation reagents is discussed in this paper. The usability and efficiency of the proposed approach are considered on the conducted empirical example.

Optimal number of revolution the eccentric shaft of a jaw crusher with a simple motion of the moving jaw

Nenad Magdalinović; Bojan Drobnjaković; Ivana Jovanović; Sanja Petrović

The paper analyzes forces acting on a piece of raw material in a jaw crusher with a simple motion of the moving jaw, and based on this defines the formula to define the optimal number of revolutions the eccentric shaft. Under the optimum number of revolution the eccentric shaft, the number of revolutions is assumed to ensure that the crusher achieves the maximum crushing capacity.

This work presents the results of the Bond work index in a ball mill on samples of carbonate mineral raw material (chalk) of the site Spasina Brdjani. Determination of the Bond Work Index was carried out on total of six samples of chalk from different exploration drill holes, as well as two samples of chalk from the exploration trenches. Comparing the results, it was found that in most cases the value of the Bond Work Index is between 2 and 3 Deviations, which means slightly higher values of Bond work index, were achieved in samples where the presence of alevrolyte interlayers was observed as well as a large concentration of calcified fossils. Very low value of the Bond Work Index 1,520 kWh/t was determined in chalk samples with high content of soft silty clayey component.

This paper presents the results of a part of technological tests, whose aim was to determine the optimum techno-economic conditions for the flotation concentration of ore from the deposit Tenka-3 North Mining District, Copper Mine Majdanpek. The given view refers to testing the effects of collectors NaIPX, 3418 A and 5500 AP, as well as the pulp pH value on the quality of concentrate from the primary flotation process. It was found that the majority of copper, gold and silver in the primary concentrate is obtained using the collector AP 5500. In addition, a better quality of primary concentrate was obtained at higher pH values of pulp in the tested pH range (10.0 – 11.5).

At the end of the landfill operation, the all land requires remediation by soil-forming processes initiation of reclaimed ground, but most of all restoration of vegetation by selecting the appropriate species of crop plants. Disposal of ash and slag from TPP Gacko, B&H was done in the cassette II, formed in the excavation area of the open pit Gracanica. With the need for a new space for disposal of ash and slag, a solution was found in the formation of cassette III below the existing cassette II. This paper describes a method of reclamation, which will be done on the cassette III after completion the phase 3.

The effect of different collectors on recovery of copper and precious metals of the ore body Tenka 3

Ivana Jovanović; Dejan Todorović; Ljubiša Andrić

This work presents a part of technological testing that were conducted in order to define the optimum conditions of flotation concentration of the ore from the deposit Tenka 3 - North Mining District, Majdanpek copper mine. Provided description refers to testing the effect of collectors NaIPX, 3418 and AP5500 as well as the pH value of pulp to the certain technical indicators (recovery of copper and precious metals) of the rough flotation process. It was found that generally the best recoveries of copper and gold in the basic copper concentrate are obtained using a combination of collectors 3418 and AP5500, while the best silver recovery in the basic copper concentrate is obtained using the sodium isopropyl xanthate. In addition, higher recoveries of gold and silver were obtained at lower pH value of pulp, while, on the other hand, a clear dependence of copper recovery on pH value was not observed in tested pH range (10.0 to 11.5).
