水素炎イオン化検出器および燃焼部を試作し,これらと既存のガスクロマトグラフ恒温槽,1mV記録計とを組合せて1組の表置とし,空気で希釈したベンゼン-トルエン等重量混合試料を展開して検出器の感度,直線性,安定度を検討し,極めて優秀であることを認めた。すなわち感度は1γのべンゼンに対して2.5×106mVml/mgで熱伝導型のものの500~1000倍,最少検出量はベンゼン,トルエンともに0.008γ,検量線は1~0.01γのベンゼン,1~0.01γのトルエンについて直線となった。検出器の雑音は200μV以下,零点のドリフトは300μV/hr以内で極めて安定であった。
