Abstract The energy dependence of the 6Li(3He, π+) 9Begs reaction at θlab = 20° has been studied for TeHe = 235, 260, 270 and 283 MeV and at 40° and 55° for 235 and 283 MeV. A semiphenomenological model reproduces the shape of the angular distribution and the order of magnitude of the cross section but predicts a too sharp energy variation. Experimental results on 10B (3He, π+) 13Cgs at 20°lab for 260 and 283 MeV are of a similar size.

Abstract Results on the Δ excitation by heavy ion charge exchange are presented. 900 MeV per nucleon 12C, 16O, 20Ne and 1100 MeV per nucleon 12C have been used. The Δ excitation strength depends on the projectile — ejectile nature and on the incident energy. The role of the target mass is also discussed. The peak for the Δ in nuclei is energy shifted from the free Δ peak.

Differential cross sections for the 6Li(p, pi +)7Li reaction have been measured at Tp=201 MeV. Data on the excitation of the first three levels of 7Li are presented between laboratory angles of 20 degrees and 90 degrees .
