Multistep processes in the (d, 6Li) reaction

Abstract At 28 MeV, the (d, 6 Li) reaction on A = 4 n targets in the 1p and 2s-1d shells systematically populates unnatural-parity states with large relative cross sections. This results suggests the presence of multistep reaction processes, making questionable the extraction of nuclear-structure information with DWBA.

Particle-hole nature of the two lowest 3−states in 24Mg

Abstract Stripping and pickup reactions are performed and show the configuration for the lowest 3 − state (7.62MeV) to be mainly a hole in the 1p shell the next 3 − level (8.36 MeV) is mainly promoted into the 2p-1f shell.
