Notes on Houses and Housing-Districts at Abdera and Himera

In the year i95o the then ephor of Thrace, Demetrios Lazarides, initiated a series of excavations at Abdera, a site previously totally unexcavated. One of the most important cities in Thrace, its prosperity, based on trade and on the production of grain, made it the third largest contributory city in the Delian League.
