The context-sensitive grammar for vehicle movement description

Jan Piecha; Marcin Staniek

The paper introduces a method allowing to spot image of vehicles, registered by a video camera. The objects manoeuvres on and between traffic lanes are one of the most important tusk being under consideration in this contribution. The elaborated algorithms of the vehicles movement analysis were presented in the paper. The description language, with its syntactic primitives, was introduced and implemented for the movement assignment, description and analysis.

Gait Motor Disturbances in Neurological Diseases Diagnosis

Jan Piecha

The paper introduces some clinical experiments on 250 patients suffering from neurological diseases. Among them: 117 patients with motor disturbances and 42 with hemiparetic syndrome of the disease; majority cases after cerebral stroke. Next 52 cases were affected by acute sciatic neuralgia, 23 patients with recognition of Parkinson disease symptoms. The control group consisted of 16 healthy adults of medical staff. The subjects were examined by pedobarographic equipment; Parotec System for Windows (PSW) [1]. On these observations some recommendations were found; for further development of computer supported diagnostics system.

Web Databases Descriptors Defined by Means of Pseudo Natural Language Items

Marcin Bernas; Jan Piecha

In recent years many approaches into web-content development methods can be observed. In spite of many similarities in their description and formats; as in Dublin Core or LOM (Learning Object Metadata), the characteristic features of these descriptors have not been strictly defined yet. What is more complexity of the available standards brings the user with difficulties to use them. The paper introduces development interfaces, supported by graph theories, for applications description. The web applications unification was determined using frames of the Multimedia Applications Management Shell (MAMS), together with various controlling facilities and functions of interactions. The elaborated shell was provided with RDF and RSS format compatibilities, needed for the web resources safe distribution.

The Graph Descriptors of E-content Unit Organisation and Controlling Features

Jan Piecha; Marcin Bernas

The e-learning databases content description methods, for presentation and distribution, were introduced in many works (as in. IMS and Common Cartridge action), for standardisation (SCORM) and distribution platforms for authoring systems (MOODLE, MAMS). The personalisation processes of training units structure finding is still an investigations area. The specifications like IMS LD supported by OUML languages allow the courses structure modelling, leaving not solved ontology of courseware and presentation standards. The contribution presents an approach allowing controlling the course construction by a directed multi-graph, supported by a current knowledge of the course user. The decisions are based on a fuzzy logic measures, describing the user’s knowledge. The authors elaborated the e-learning applications development platform (called Multimedia Applications Management Shell – MAMS) provided with various tools that simplify the e-learning unit’s development and the applications controlling processes implementation.
