Synthesis of Dipyridyl Sulfides from Pyridyl-Pyridinium Halides

Bogdan Boduszek; Jan Wieczorek

Reactions of pyridyl-pyridinium halides with thiolpyridines and thiourea were investigated. New dipyridyl sulfides were obtained by this method.ZusammenfassungReaktionen von Pyridil-pyridinium-halogeniden mit Thiolpyridinen und Thioharnstoff werden untersucht. Auf diesem Weg wurde eine Reihe neuer Dipyridil-sulfide synthesiert.

Phosphonic analogues of morphactines

Roman Gancarz; Paweł Kafarski; Przemysław Mastalerz; Jan Wieczorek; Elzbieta Przybyłka; Witold Czerwinski

Abstract Derivatives of 9-aminofluorene-9-phosphonic acid and 9-aminofluorene-9-phosphinoxides, the phosphonic analogues of morphactines, were synthesized. All the obtained compounds showed marked morphactin-like activity against test plants: Spirodela oligorrhiza and Lepidium sativum.

SYNTHESIS OF SOME NEW CYCLIC AMINOPHOSPHONATES AND THEIR PHYSIOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES

Jan Wieczorek; Roman Gancarz; K. Bielecki; E. Grzyś; J. Sarapuk

Abstract The synthesis of 19 newly synthesized cyclic aminophosphonic acid derivatives was described and their biological activity studied. It was found, as in the case of the previously described series of acyclic analogues, that the phytotoxicity of the compounds, tested on aquatic plant Spirodela oligorrhaza depended mainly on their hydrophobic parameters. The most pronounced phytotoxicity, the measure of which was concentration of aminophosphonates causing 50% inhibition of plant growth (EC50), exhibited compounds with not too long hydrocarbon substituent on the nitrogen atom (8–10 carbon atoms) and branched propyl groups on the phosphorus atom. The test had preliminary character and permitted to eliminate the less promising compounds for further studies.

SYNTHESIS AND PHYSIOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES OF NEW ACYCLIC AMINOPHOSPHONATES

Jan Wieczorek; Roman Gancarz; K. Bielecki; E. Grzyś; J. Sarapuk

Abstract The dependence of biological activity of 37 newly synthesized acyclic aminomethanephosphonic acid derivatives on their structure was studied. It was found that the phytotoxicity of the compounds studied depended on their hydrophobic parameters, and in a smaller extent on the electronic parameters of the substituents on nitrogen and phosphorus atoms. No phytotoxicity dependence on the steric parameters of compounds was found. Tested organism was Spirodela oligorrhiza and the parameter studied was the concentration of compounds causing 50% growth inhibition (EC50). The test had preliminary character and permitted to eliminate the less promising compounds out of further studies.

Preliminary Study on Automatic Recognition of Spatial Expressions in Polish Texts

Michał Marcińczuk; Marcin Oleksy; Jan Wieczorek

In the paper we cover the problem of spatial expression recognition in text for Polish language. A spatial expression is a text fragment which describes a relative location of two or more physical objects to each other. The first part of the paper treats about a Polish corpus annotated with spatial expressions and annotators agreement. In the second part we analyse the feasibility of spatial expression recognition by overviewing relevant tools and resources for text processing for Polish. Then we present a knowledge-based approach which utilizes the existing tools and resources for Polish, including: a morpho-syntactic tagger, shallow parsers, a dependency parser, a named entity recognizer, a general ontology, a wordnet and a wordnet to ontology mapping. We also present a dedicated set of manually created syntactic and semantic patterns for generating and filtering candidates of spatial expressions. In the last part we discuss the results obtained on the reference corpus with the proposed method and present detailed error analysis.
