The contribution follows the authors’ article published in the previous JTIE issue (Záhorec – Hašková, JTIE, 1/2009, s. 83 91). Following the empirically derived hierarchy of subjects identifying degrees of particular teaching subjects popularity among grammar school students, and influence of various factors on students’ attitude toward these subjects the authors explored possibilities to eliminate students’ negative attitudes and approaches to so-called unfavourite ones, which just natural science and technical disciplines belong to. In the concrete they focused on physics, which was identified as the least favourite subject. In this paper the authors present results of a pedagogical experiment which aim was to verify positive influence of multimedia teaching materials educational intervention on students’ negative approach to physics.

Quality of technical education is mainly dependent on the continuity of the content and implementation of a follow-up study of secondary schools to primary schools and institutions of higher education to the secondary ones. Particularly in natural and technical sciences it is necessary to continually improve both initial and follow-up educational levels and gradually transform the school system. In this contribution, the authors deal with the analysis of integration and status of the technical subjects at the secondary education level in the Belgium within the frame of international comparison of the Slovak and Belgian educational systems to assess the current level of quality of technical education in Slovakia and identify the areas that need to be focused on in the further increasing of technical education quality.

The authors of this paper present their findings at the level of quantitative statistical analyses within wider international monitoring, in which one of the objectives was to determine the extent to which students of the economic and managerial profiling at ISCED level 5 considered their study points of selected educational topics interesting, which also form part of their educational portfolio from the field of informatics. Students rated to what extent is the topic of teaching relevant for education in the context of those study disciplines, respectively they evaluated through a scale in what extent is the educational content filled from their personal point of view with regard to education in the disciplines studied.

Currently within the European Union a great attention is paid to the lifelong learning and a lot of projects in this area have been carried out also with its financial support. One of such projects was the project Improving the Professional, Managerial and Linguistic Knowledge and Skills of Customs Officers and Customs Administration. This project, financially supported by the European Social Fund within the Operational Programme Employment and Social Inclusion, was carried out in the period from 2010 to 2012. Its main coordinator was the Customs Directorate of the Slovak Republic, which implemented it into the practice in cooperation with the SlovDidac Association and participation of experts from some higher education institutions. The main goal of the project was to improve qualification and professional knowledge and skills of the target group and to increase effectiveness and quality of its work. The key education activities of the project were based on the use of e-learning support and flash animations, too. In the paper the authors summarize the project background and its main results.

Prispevok nadvazuje na clanky uverejnene v predchadzajucich cislach casopisu (Zahorec - Haskova, JTIE, 1/2009, s. 83 - 91; Zahorec - Haskova, JTIE, 2/2009, s. 69 -76), v ktorých boli prezentovane niektore výsledky siroko koncipovaneho výskumu zameraneho na sledovanie možnosti ovplyvňovania postojov a vzťahov studentov k jednotlivým vyucovacim predmetom, a to hlavne k tým, ktore patria medzi ich neobľubene predmety. The contribution follows the authors’ articles publ (Záhorec – Hašková, JTIE, 1/2009, s. 83 some results of a broader research focused on obser attitudes and approaches to partic were presented. In this contribution the authors pr questionnaire which was used within the carried out questionnaire was done to develop an appropriate to influence students` approaches to the subjects thro electronic teaching materials and int teaching process.

If Γ is any finite graph, then the unlabelled configuration space of n points on Γ, denoted UCnΓ, is the space of n-element subsets of Γ. The braid group of Γ on n strands is the fundamental group of UCnΓ. We apply a discrete version of Morse theory to these UCnΓ, for any n and any Γ, and provide a clear description of the critical cells in every case. As a result, we can calculate a presentation for the braid group of any tree, for any number of strands. We also give a simple proof of a theorem due to Ghrist: the space UCnΓ strong deformation retracts onto a CW complex of dimension at most k , where k is the number of vertices in Γ of degree at least 3 (and k is thus independent of n).
