The aim of the WebGen system is to allow visually impaired users to create web presentations in a simple and natural way by means of dialogue. This paper describes the basic methods and principles used in the system Web-Gen, especially the system structure and the dialogue interface. An illustrative example of a dialogue is included as well as the resulting web page.

In this paper, ontology based dialogue strategies are presented in connection with the concept of communicative images. Communicative images are graphical objects integrated with a dialogue interface and linked to an associated knowledge database which stores the semantics of the objects depicted. The relevant pieces of information can be linked to the external knowledge distributed in a social network. Exploiting a formal ontology approach facilitates the process of deriving information from relevant texts that can be found in the social network and it simultaneously forms a suitable framework for supporting dialogue communication in natural language. This approach is discussed and illustrated with various examples in this paper.

Our concept of communicative images aims to provide graphical information by means of dialogue interaction, which is suitable for people with various disabilities. Communicative images are graphical objects integrated with a dialogue interface and linked to an associated knowledge database which stores the semantics of the objects depicted. This paper deals with the utilization of formal ontologies for the process of image annotation and dialogue-based investigation in the context of assistive technologies.

The paper presents a novel approach, in which images are integrated with a dialogue interface that enables them to communicate with the user. The structure of the corresponding dialogue system is supported by graphical ontologies and enables the system learning from the dialogues. The Internet environment is used for retrieving additional information about the images as well as for solving more complex tasks related with exploiting other relevant knowledge. Further, the paper deals with some problems that arise from the system initiative dialogue mode and discusses the structure and algorithms of the dialogue system. Some examples and applications of the presented approach are presented as well.

In this paper, we present some principles of designing mixed-initiative dialogue systems suited to the needs of visually impaired users related with dialogue based web page generation. These principles have been implemented in the online BrowserWebGen system that allows users to generate their web pages. The primary user interface is implemented as a dialogue system with implicit confirmation. The users are able to enter one piece of semantic information at each step of a dialogue interaction. Second part of the application allows the user to activate mixed initiative dialogue interface in each dialogue state. This interface is called Dialogue Prompt Window and it provides an additional support to the users as well as control over the application in natural language.

This paper presents the basic principles for text editing by means of dialogue. First, the usage of the text division algorithm is discussed as well as its enhancement. Then, the dialogue text processing interface which co-operates with the voice synthesizer is described. We propose basic functions, formulate the most notable problems and suggest and discuss their possible solutions.
