The research presented in this paper aims to support teachers design learning scenarios with a context-sensitive tool exploiting a library of patterns. This research was carried out in partnership with PARTAGE an association that offers professional training for jobseekers in a design-based research approach. The goal is to assist the associations pedagogical team in the expressing and the formalization of their learning situation through pedagogical scenarios in order to promote the capitalization and the reuse among their community. Moreover, we defined an engineering design process framework and we refined it in collaboration with trainers. To conduct this study, we analyzed the process guiding the jobseekers courses and we formalized the training practices as design patterns. We also studied the operationalizing feasibility of these patterns in Learning Management System.

Teaching is changing in deep, due to, on one hand, the evolutions of the society expectations and, on another hand, the widely spreading of new technologies. By the way, teachers and trainers need now to structure and formalize their internal designs and should become designers but do not have the competence. We aim to help them during the instructional design process. In that way we propose some methods and tools to support the scenario design activity and the implementation of the resulting models. We present an adaptive user-centered pattern-based learning design approach and the editor tool to support it. A case study is proposed to illustrate the design process.

The research work aim to support the teachers design activity and propose an adaptive process as part of an engineering design process framework based on patterns. The design process proposes teachers to design learning situation based on patterns according to their own design approach identified as pedagogical design scheme. A context-sensitive tool exploiting a library of patterns is being developed to support the design process. In this paper, we present the pattern-based engineering design process framework and the tool supporting it. We experiment a design session with two trainers of an association dedicated to back-to-work programs within an iterative co-participant design based research method.
