Research on dynamic amplification factor of 1000kV transformation device supporting structures

1000kV ultra-high voltage (UHV) transformation devices, which supporting structures have been obviously modified in aspects of outside dimension and load capacity compared to those of low-voltage transformation device, are more susceptible to earthquake damage. The height of these device have exceeded the standards regulated by Code for Seismic Design of Electric Power Installations (GB 50260-96) and Seismic Design Guidelines for Electrical Device in Substations (JEAG5003-1998), etc., and a special research needs to be conducted on the value range of the dynamic amplification factor of such transformation device supporting structures under seismic action. A 1000kV loop system is taken as an example for analysis of seismic response, and the result show that the value range of dynamic amplification factor of the supporting structures in the existing standards could not meet the seismic requirements of the UHV transformation device supporting structures. The obtained results provides a valuable reference for the seismic analysis of UHV substation engineering.
