Junli Yao; Robert R. Kula; Jiahua Chen

Trachyusa whartoni Yao sp. nov. from Dalian, Liaoning, China is described and illustrated. Trachyusa is a newly recorded genus in China. A key to the species of Trachyusa is provided based on the keys of Belokobylskij (1998), Papp (1967), and van Achterberg and OConnor (1990). Type specimens of the new species are deposited in the Beneficial Insects Institute, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, Fuzhou, China.

Junli Yao; Robert R. Kula; Robert A. Wharton; Jiahua Chen

Four new species of Tanycarpa (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Alysiinae), T. gymnonotum Yao sp. n., T. similis Yao sp. n., T. areolata Yao sp. n., and T. lineata Yao sp. n., are described from the Palaearctic Region of China, and T. chors Belokobylskij is newly recorded from China. Significant range extensions are given for T. bicolor (Nees von Esenbeck), T. gracilicornis (Nees von Esenbeck), and T. mitis Stelfox. A key to the Palaearctic species of Tanycarpa is provided.

Sculptolobus gen. nov. (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Braconinae) and two new species from China

Recently, an apparently undescribed genus of the subfamily Braconinae Nees, 1812 (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) was discovered in China. It has a densely setose mesoscutum, the tarsal claws have a lobe, the ovipositor is slender and the angle between the veins 1-SR and C+SC+R of the fore wing is large and it is placed in the Plesiobracon group (van Achterberg 1983; Quicke 1987, 1988). The very transverse third metasomal tergite (Figs 2, 20) is also similar to that displayed by members of the Chelonogastra group In this group it runs to the genus Syntomernus Enderlein, 1920, because the tarsal claws have an acute lobe (Fig. 10), vein 3-SR of fore wing longer than vein 2-SR (Figs 1, 16), the sixth metasomal tergite is exposed and has an obsolete subapical groove (Fig. 12), the scapus is subtruncate apically (Fig. 6), the scutellum is triangular (Figs 4, 19), the hind tibia narrower than the hind femur (Fig. 5), the fourth metasomal tergite is strongly convex (Fig. 12), the frons is granulate (Figs 8, 17) and the clypeus differentiated from face (Figs 3, 18). Sculptolobus differs by the densely setose and sculptured mesoscutum (Figs 4, 12, 14, 19). The biology of the new genus is unknown, but members of the Plesiobracon group have been reared from Momphidae or Cecidomyiidae galls (Maeto 1991) and from larvae of Hispidae or Gracillariidae, and Syntomernus has been reared from fig syconia (D.L.J. Quicke, unpublished observations in Uganda), and Trigastrotheca Cameron, 1906 is known to predate ant broods (Quicke & Stanton 2005).

Two new species of Anisocyrta Foerster (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Alysiinae) from China

Junli Yao; Robert R. Kula; Jiahua Chen

Two new species of the genus Anisocyrta Foerster, 1863, from China are described and illustrated: Anisocyrta xiaoliyaoae Yao, sp. n. and Anisocyrta cvanachterbergi Yao, sp. n. Anisocyrta is reported from China for the first time. A key to the Palearctic species of the genus Anisocyrta is provided based on the keys of van Achterberg (1986) and Belokobylskij (1998). Type specimens of the two new species are deposited in the Beneficial Insects Institute Collection, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, Fuzhou, China (BIIC).

Two species and a genus new for Thailand, with description of a new species of Neurolarthra Fischer (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Alysiinae)

Junli Yao; Cornelis Van Achterberg; Michael J. Sharkey; Eric G. Chapman; Jiahua Chen

The taxonomic history of Hellwigiella Szépligeti is presented with comments. Ophion similis (Szépligeti, 1905) is diagnosed and illustrated, with the first record for Morocco. Hellwigiella is redescribed and illustrated, with comments on its differentiation from O. similis. A key to the two valid species, H. dichromoptera and H. nigripennis stat. rev., is provided.

Separatatus Chen & Wu (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Alysiinae) newly recorded from Thailand, with description of one new species and one new combination

Junli Yao; Cornelis Van Achterberg; Michael J. Sharkey; Jiahua Chen

Separatatus Chen Wu, 1994, is reported for the first time from Thailand and one new species is described and illustrated: Separatatus xuexincheni n. sp. In addition, one species is newly recorded from Thailand (S. parallelus Zhu et al., 2017) and we transfer one species from Phasmidiasta to Separatatus: S. malaysiae (Fischer, 2006) n. comb. A key to species of the genus Separatatus is presented.

A new species and three newly recorded species of the dacnusine genus Dacnusa Haliday (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Alysiinae) from China

Min-Lin Zheng; Jiahua Chen

A new species of the genus Dacnusa from the Palaearctic region of China, Dacnusa (Pachysema) heterodentatus sp. nov. is described. As well, three newly recorded species from the Palaearctic region in China are reported, along with their descriptions and illustrations: Dacnusa (Agonia) adducta (Haliday), Dacnusa (Aphanta) sasakawai Takada and Dacnusa (Dacnusa) maculipes Thomson. A key is presented to the subgenera of Dacnusa and the most similar species to these four reported species.
