We demonstrate a high-power laser diode stacks double-end-pumped Nd:YVO4 1064 nm slab laser with a folded stable-unstable hybrid resonator. An output power of 220 W was obtained at the pump power of 490 W with optical conversion efficiency of 44.9%. At the output power of 202 W, the M2 factors in the unstable direction and in the stable direction were 1.7 and 2.3, respectively.

We demonstrated a compact and efficient in-band diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 partially end-pumped slab (Innoslab) nanosecond amplifier based on a hybrid resonator. For the seeder source, a-6 W, 5 ns Q-switched laser with a repetition rate of 30 kHz was obtained with beam quality factors M 2 < . A beam-shaping system consisting of cylindrical lenses was designed according to the different sizes of the active medium in two orthogonal directions. A maximum average output power of 77 W was obtained. The optical-to-optical efficiency was 27.9%. The beam quality factors M 2 in the unstable and stable directions were 1.52 and 1.36, respectively.

We reported a compact and efficient Nd:YVO4 partially end-pumped slab (Innoslab) nanosecond amplifier. The power of the seed was 5 W at a pulse repetition rate of 30 kHz with beam quality factors of M 2 < 1.3. A plane–plane cavity was used in the amplifier for high efficiency. With effective shaping of the seed laser, the output of 77 W was obtained under the pump power of 378 W without self-excitation. The optical to optical conversion efficiency was 23.8%, and the beam quality factors of M 2 were 1.52 and 1.32 in the horizontal direction and in the vertical direction, respectively.

We present a high power 340 W Nd:YVO4 Innoslab laser end-pumped by 880 nm laser-diode stacks. A maximum output power of 340 W was obtained at the absorbed power of 710 W with optical conversion efficiency up to 47.9 %. At the output power of 300 W, the M-2 factors in the unstable direction and the stable direction were 2.1 and 3.4, respectively.

Laser diode-end-pumped Nd:YVO4 slab laser with a hybrid resonator operating at 1064 nm was carried out. The size of Nd:YVO4 crystal with 0.3 at.% doped concentration was 14 mm × 10 mm × 1 mm, which was cut along the a axis and the c axis was parallel with the 14 mm direction. By using a compact negative confocal unstable-stable hybrid resonator, 134 W 1064 nm laser output was realized with the M2 factors in the unstable direction and in the stable direction were 2.1 and 1.7 respectively. The slope efficiency and optical-to-optical efficiency were 49.3% and 40.2%, respectively.

A high-power cw all-solid-state Nd:GdVO4 laser operating at 880nm is reported. The laser consists of a low doped level Nd: GdVO4 crystal dual-end-pumped by two high-power diode lasers and a compact negative confocal unstable-stable hybrid resonator. At an incident pump power of 820 W, a maximum cw output of 240W at 1064nm is obtained. The optical-to-optical efficiency and slope efficiency are 40.7% and 53.2%, respectively. The M-2 factors in the unstable direction and in the stable direction are 4.38 and 5.44, respectively.

1.3μm all-solid-state lasers have great important applications in the fields of fiber communication, medicine and laser color display. In this paper, a LD end-pumped Nd:GdVO4 slab laser with a flat-concave stable cavity at 1342nm was demonstrated. Under the pumping power of 132W, 25W CW laser was obtained with the slope efficiency of 23%.
