Modeling and stabilization of a wireless network control system with packet loss and time delay

Jianjun Bai; Hongye Su; Jinfeng Gao; Tao Sun; Zheng-Guang Wu

Abstract The problem of modeling and stabilization of a wireless network control system (NCS) is considered in this paper, where packet loss and time delay exist simultaneously in the wireless network. A discrete-time switched system with time-varying delay model is first proposed to describe the system closed by a static state feedback controller. A sufficient criteria for the discrete-time switched system with time-varying delay to be stable is proposed, based on which, the corresponding state feedback controller is obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Numerical examples show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Kalman filtering for networked multi-agent systems with random packet dropouts

Jun Chen; Bin Bu; Jinfeng Gao; Minming Gu; Jianjun Bai

This paper considers consensus of multi-agent systems (MASs) with random packet dropout based on Kalman filter. The Kalman filter is used to estimate current state of agents due to immeasurable output or state data. The relationship between packet dropout rate and the consensus ability of MASs is obtained. And the critical rate of packet dropout is gained. One step prediction method which can decrease the rate of packet dropout is presented. Numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

Consensus of linear discrete-time multi-agent systems based on full-dimensional state observer

Yong Xu; Jinfeng Gao; Ting Shi; Minming Gu; Meizhen Lei

This paper considers consensus of linear discrete-time multi-agent systems (MASs) based on full-dimensional state observer. Compared to Cheng et al. (2011), a new consensus protocol for the discrete-time MASs with virtual communication network topology is proposed and has faster convergence speed. Under the new consensus protocol, each agent gets not only its own state through the full-dimensional observer, but also the states of its neighbours and its instantaneous neighbours to reach consensus. Necessary and sufficient conditions of consensus for the MASs are presented. Finally, an example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, and extended to directed topology case.

Fast Consensus of Networked Multiagent Systems with Two-Hop Network

Jinfeng Gao; Bin Bu; Lihui Feng; Minming Gu

This paper studies the consensus convergence speed of multiagent systems (MASs) from two aspects including communication topology and the state of agents. Two-hop network is considered in the communication topology. A novel consensus protocol that includes the information of the states motions and their integrals is introduced. And the protocol has much faster convergence speed by choosing some appropriate weight values. The protocol can be applied to distributed control and large-scale systems. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.
