A 3D Shenzhen city web platform based on WE-BVRGIS is presented. A 3D globe browser is employed to load all kinds of demanded data of the city, such as 3D building model data, residents information, real-time and historical traffic data. Using these data, the 3D analysis and visualization of the concerned city massive information are conducted in the platform. All the presented functions of the platform are extracted from the practical customer demand. The system design has considered some existing Geographic human-computer interaction (GeoHCI) research results.

Abstract With several characteristics, such as large scale, diverse predictability and timeliness, the city traffic data falls in the range of definition of Big Data. A Virtual Reality GIS based traffic analysis and visualization system is proposed as a promising and inspiring approach to manage and develop traffic big data. In addition to the basic GIS interaction functions, the proposed system also includes some intelligent visual analysis and forecasting functions. The passenger flow forecasting algorithm is introduced in detail.

There are lacks of integrated analysis and visual display of multiple real-time dynamic traffic information. This research proposed a deep research and application examples on this basis which is conducted in virtual geographic environment. Currently, there are many kinds of traffic passenger flow forecasting models, and the common models include regression forecasting model and time series prediction model. The coach passenger flow shows strong regularity and stability without long-term change trend, so this research adopts regression forecasting model to forecast the coach passenger flow.

Population travel behavior modeling is a fundamental process in transportation planning and in the management of urban transportation systems. It plays a pivotal role in developing strategies that help alleviate urban traffic congestion. Most existing studies mainly focus on the theories and methodologies of travel behavior, but the development of methods addressing issues such as how to access large volumes of high-quality and spatial-temporal urban population travel data, implement dynamic modeling of travel behavior, and relevant experimental studies, does not receive adequate attention and has less research results. Urban populations dynamic trajectory can be represented and obtained through mobile phone positioning data and taxi GPS floating car data (FCD). By data fusion and traffic spatial analysis of these two type data sources, the urban population travel behavior is dynamic modeled, which is based on a GIS-based integrated information processing and analysis platform.

The information which is contained in the multi-spectral and SAR images have different characteristic. Multi-spectral images contain a great deal of spectral information, whereas SAR images contain rich texture information, such as buildings and road network. SAR and TM images fusion based on the wavelet transform ensure the fusion image showing more spatial detail, not only conserving the spectral information of the multi-spectral images and reducing the distortions as well, but also highlighting the texture information of the SAR image. In this paper, the wavelet transform-based image fusion methods by using SAR and TM multi-spectral images are implemented by Mallat and à trous algorithms separately. Before the image fusion, both of the SAR and TM images have to be geographic coordinate registered in order to they having the same pixel size. In wavelet decomposition, the decomposition level is determined by statistical of entropy value. According to SAR and TM image fusion based on wavelet transform, it can be seen that the fusion image is greatly improved and both of spectral and textural information are enhanced. The value of entropy, variance, average gradient and correlation coefficients of the fusion image are analyzed for two different algorithms evaluation. By analyzing the results, It can be concluded that the image fusion by à trous wavelet transform has a good effect in experiment.

Abstract Using a 3D geographical information system (GIS) and cloud computing, a new government affairs service platform is presented. To manage and use the city’s data efficiently, the 3D analysis and visualization of the city’s information are held on the platform of the smart city. With the new platform, a series of e-government services can be conducted to manage the makers and operation supervisors in the government agencies and other smart city industries, such as urban disaster and environmental protection, intelligent transportation, monitoring and evaluation of the urban resource centers. All services presented on the platform are extracted from the government departments’ practical demand.

Radiometric normalization of multi-temporal satellite image is very important for change detection or image mosaic. In this paper, a simple and effective radiometric normalization approach is proposed for processing high resolution multispectral satellite images such as IKONOS or QuickBird. This approach involves three main steps: (1) extracting pixel values from image pairs, (2) sorting original pixel values of image pairs in ascending order, and (3) assigning each pixel a new value based on its reflectance value relative to all other pixels. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is confirmed with experimental results compared to other normalization methods.
