In this study, we attempt to understand the processes that influence the dynamics of urban spatial growth of Chapeco - SC. The analysis was focused on urban space, covering the period relating to 2004/2014. The main objective was to analyze the trends of urban growth Chapeco and its conformity with the Master Plan of Chapeco. Specifically, it was found in the City Hall of Chapeco forecast locals for the current and future housing projects, after the implementation of the Master Plan, there was a trend of urban growth and the minimization of rural areas, we identified actions taken by the municipal government that will curb occupancy in areas not covered by the Master Plan for urban space, the role of territorial social agents, as well as the influence of corridors of centrality to the formation of new settlements in the urban space Chapeco. This article uses as a method of research a qualitative approach. The analyzes and discussions in this study demonstrate that territorial urban growth of Chapeco has occurred mainly in the suburbs, where infrastructure services are disabled.

The article is about the production of organic rice in the settleent Novo Horizonte II, located in the municipality of Santa Margarida do Sul / RS. This is a alternative agriculture based on agroecology, considering economic, social and environmental concerns. The study area has the diversification in production, that ensuring the autonomous production and sustainability, providing the conditions of permanence of the man in the field. In this settlement various types of organic rice are produced, the settlers involved with this production system are constantly looking for the techniques, technologies, methods and methodologies to facilitate and better suited to this production, guaranteeing earningsin quality and quantity produced. This type of production potentiate the local and regional development. With the passage of time is noticed an improvement in consumer acceptance with organic products.

O trabalho busca compreender o processo produtivo da agricultura familiar agroecologica no Distrito Pains, Santa Maria, RS. Entao, buscou-se a apreender a importância da agricultura familiar como forma de valorizacao da comunidade local nos aspectos sociais, economicos e ambientais. Alem disso, procurou-se conhecer as mudancas ocorridas nas praticas agricolas do Distrito Pains, destacando as praticas agricolas alternativas sustentaveis e seus beneficios para a comunidade local. O trabalho apresenta uma abordagem metodologica qualitativa onde foram utilizadas como instrumentos de pesquisa as entrevistas que foram aplicadas aos sujeitos sociais envolvidos.
