Broad spectrum resolution of optical isomers using chiral high-performance liquid chromatographic bonded phases

Abstract Using a chiral recognition rationale, a chiral fluoroalcoholic bonded stationary phase has been devised which proves capable of separating the enantiomers of a large number of solutes including sulfoxides, lactones, and derivatives of alcohols, amines, amino acids, hydroxy acids, and mercaptans. Chiral recognition being a reciprocal event, chiral stationary phases modeled after solutes resolvable upon the fluoroalcoholic columns successfully separate the enantiomers of a number of fluoroalcohols.
