Featured researches published by John M. Schwab.

Journal of The Chemical Society, Chemical Communications | 1986

Stereochemical course of the hydration reaction catalysed by β-hydroxydecanoylthioester dehydrase

John M. Schwab; John B. Klassen; Asif. Habib

Enzyme-catalysed hydration of the N-acetylcysteamine thioester of (E)-dec-2-enoic acid to the corresponding thioester of (R)-3-hydroxydecanoic acid proceeds in a syn fashion, with protonation on the si face at substrate C-2.

Journal of The Chemical Society, Chemical Communications | 1986

Chirally-labelled oxirane

John M. Schwab; Chorng-Kei Ho

(R,R)- and (S,S)-[1,2-2H2]oxiranes have been synthesized from prop-2-yn-1-ol, the key step being asymmetric epoxidation of (E)-3-(triphenylsilyl)[2,3-2H2]prop-2-en-1-ol.

Journal of The Chemical Society, Chemical Communications | 1988

A facile synthesis of (2RS,3S,4S)-[3,4-2H2]homoserine lactone

John M. Schwab; Tapan Ray

Homoserine lactone chirally labelled with deuterium at C-3 and C-4 has been synthesized in two steps, starting from chirally labelled oxirane.

Journal of the American Chemical Society | 1970

A stereochemical approach toward a more detailed understanding of electron impact induced elimination reactions

Mark M. Green; Richard J. Cook; John M. Schwab; R. B. Roy

Journal of the American Chemical Society | 1984

ESCHERICHIA COLI IMIDAZOLEGLYCEROL PHOSPHATE DEHYDRATASE : SPECTROSCOPIC CHARACTERIZATION OF THE ENZYMIC PRODUCT AND THE STERIC COURSE OF THE REACTION

Aulma R. Parker; Jeffrey A. Moore; John M. Schwab; V. Jo Davisson

Journal of the American Chemical Society | 1986

.beta.-Hydroxydecanoyl thioester dehydrase. Complete characterization of the fate of the "suicide" substrate 3-decynoyl-NAC

John M. Schwab; Chorng Kei Ho; Wu Bo. Li; Craig A. Townsend; Gino M. Salituro

Journal of the American Chemical Society | 1986

A thorough study of the stereochemical consequences of the hydration/dehydration reaction catalyzed by .beta.-hydroxydecanoyl thioester dehydrase

John M. Schwab; Asif. Habib; John B. Klassen

ChemInform | 1983
