To the Editor: We agree with Goodman et al1 regarding their interpretation of the Platelet Inhibition and Patient Outcomes (PLATO) trial data that the use of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and other gastroprotective drugs is a marker for patients at higher risk for subsequent cardiovascular (CV) or gastrointestinal events.
