According to the data obtained in 1997-1998 36 species belonging to 11 families of Diptera, 10 species of Hymenoptera, 7 species of Coleoptera and 2 species of Lepidoptera have been reared from 34 genera of fungi in Lithuania. The most numerous were the following: Mycetophilinae on Russula sp. (390 specimens), Bolitophilidae on Paxillus involutus (220), Mycetophilinae on Agrocybe sp. (140), Mycetophila strigatoides on Lyophyllum decastes (127) and Mycetophila fungorum on Boletus luridus (105). The most frequently encountered species of parasites were: Dialipsis exilis from Cordyla sp. On Russula sp. (14 specimens), Proclitus comes on Lactarius piperatus (13) and Plectiscidea nava from Mycetophila fungorum on Russula sp.

A review of distribution of the horse-chestnut leafminer (Cameraria ohridella) in Lithuania was made on the basis of observations carried out in various Lithuanian cities, towns and settlements in 2002–2006. The first record of the species in Lithuania was made in the Curonian Spit in 2002. Currently, Cameraria ohridella can be found in 39 Lithuanian cities, towns and settlements. In some areas, the species forms massive infestation foci. Until 2006 the autumnal generation was only known in Lithuania, whereas in 2006 the summer generation was registered.

Label data of each species, information on sampling localities and specimens deposition, are provided in the paper.

There are 25 species of fungus gnats (Diptera, Mycetophilidae) registered in Lithuania. 22 of them are new for the Lithuanian fauna. All these species belong to 5 subfamilies. In this work the check-list of found in Lithuania species is presented. For each species information on its locality, finding date, the number of collected specimens, sex and, for many species, fungi genus and species, biotopes are pointed out.

The paper generalises the original data of more than 30 years of investigations in the Lithuanian LTER sites (the Baltic Sea coastal area, Cepkeliai State Strict Nature Reserve, Kamanos State Strict Nature Reserve and the environs of Lake Drūksiai). Over 3,000 insect species belonging to nine orders were recorded, with Lepidoptera and Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera) as the most properly investigated insect group in the four LTER sites. The greatest number of Lepidoptera species was registered in the Cepkeliai State Strict Nature Reserve (1,020 species) and the Baltic Sea coastal area (800). In each LTER site we found by almost 50 moth families, with prevalence of Noctuidae, Geometridae, Tortricidae and Pyralidae families holding the largest number of species. The greatest (257) number of Ichneumonidae species was found in the Kamanos State Strict Nature Reserve, Baltic Sea coast area (252), with Cryptinae as a predominant subfamily. The abundance, diversity and composition of Trichoptera species represent dif...

The Baltic seashore is one of important sites of insect biodiversity in Lithuania. Seashore habitats, such as dunes, dry grasslands, sand heaths, are unique and unstable. Research on insect fauna was carried out in seashore habitats of the Curonian Spit and Klaipėda–Sventoji zone in 1974–2004. The whole list embraced more than 2,000 species of insects. 90% of them were common for all Lithuania, but the remaining part of species were dwelling exclusively in seashore habitats or on special plants. New, often southern species firstly establish in Lithuanian seashore habitats and only later spread all over Lithuania. The case of Dichelia histrionana Frol. is a good illustration of insect immigration and spread from the Baltic seashore to other territories. The change of a habitat is an impendence that the size of the seashore insect population will go down or certain species can disappear, as is the case with Bactra suedana Bengts., Filatima ukrainica Pisk., Maculinea teleius Bergstr., Lymantria dispar Hw.

A survey between 2004 and 2010 yielded 2434 individuals of seven terrestrial isopod species – Cylisticus convexus, Oniscus asellus, Trachelipus rathkii, Porcellio scaber, Porcellio spinicornis, Porcellium conspersum, along Ligidium hypnorum – along the Curonian Spit and in various woodlands in Lithuania. The data on the Lithuanian fauna of all terrestrial isopods are presented for the first time. Isopod richness was the highest in woody habitats (dune pine forests and old mixed forests) where common European and Holarctic species (O. asellus, P. scaber, and T. rathkii) formed the majority of isopod assemblages. Additionally, more specialized isopods (L. hypnorum, P. conspersum) were also found in mixed and deciduous forests. Porcellio scaber and T. rathkii, the species tolerating human and natural disturbances, were the only isopods found in sand dunes at the coast. The article includes a detailed list of Isopoda occurrences and the numbers of individuals captured. 2004–2010 metais Kursių nerijoje ir įvai...

There are 79 species of Microleptinae and Oxytorinae subfamilies ichneumonids (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae) registered in Lithuania and in some neighbouring territories, and 63 of them are new for the Lithuanian fauna. The checklist of 79 species, belonging to 19 genera is presented here. For each species, information on its finding place and date, the number of the collected specimens, sex, collector, biotope and distribution is presented. For 9 species of ichneumonids, which were reared from fungi, their genus and species also are pointed out. For each species of ichneumonids maps give their Lithuanian distribution records in 10 x 10 km squares.

Only 4 species of centipedes were previously reported for Lithuania. Here we present current distributional data for a total of 20 species (12 species of Lithobiomorpha and 8 species of Geophilomorpha) collected mainly during 7 years conducting ecological research at Curonian Spit, drawing on samples from the central, eastern and north-western parts of Lithuania.
