Time-based interest protocol for real-time content streaming in content-centric networking (CCN)

Internet increasingly suffers congestion on the server side, particularly due to ever-increasing demand for high-quality audio/video streaming. CCN is considered as an important networking paradigm which can efficiently address such traffic explosion issue. Although early implementation of CCN protocol is available through CCNx open source project, current version lacks efficient support for real-time streaming applications. In this paper, we propose an enhanced mechanism for the support of real-time content streaming service in CCN, and present experimental results demonstrating its effectiveness.

Cache aided Matrix Network Coding based multicast scheme over wireless networks

Recently many types of mobile devices have spread out. And also needs for, emerging applications of contents mass distribution, on wireless network are rapidly increasing. Due to limited capacity of wireless, Matrix Network Coding (MNC) based multicast scheme was proposed to support these applications effectively. Though MNC based multicast scheme is considered as one of the optimal solutions for multicast applications, this still has problems on unpredictable wireless network condition. In this paper, we propose cache aided MNC multicast scheme to solve these problems and present experimental results demonstrating its effectiveness.

Enhanced wireless multicast architecture based on matrix network coding in content-centric networking

Needs of content mass distribution in wireless networks are rapidly increasing. Due to wireless capacity limitation, CCN is considered as a promising future Internet technology because of its natural multicast enabled architecture. To overcome multicast limitations, MNC based multicast schemes are also considered as optimal approaches. We propose an enhanced system architecture combining CCN and MNC for reliable wireless multicast, and present experimental results demonstrating its effectiveness.

Enhanced time-based Interest protocol in content-centric networking (CCN)

CCN is considered as an important networking paradigm which can efficiently address traffic explosion issue of the current Internet. The time-based Interest protocol for CCN was introduced to solve an efficiency problem of early implementation of the CCN protocol in CCNx open source project. The initial version of the time-based Interest protocol, however, was able to support only real-time streaming service scenario. In this paper, we propose an enhanced mechanism of the time-based Interest protocol that supports any types of content in CCN and present experimental results demonstrating its effectiveness.

Enhanced forwarding engine for content-centric networking (CCN)

While majority of Internet traffic is fast becoming of high quality multimedia variety, efficient sharing of such multimedia traffic with intuitive usability and strong privacy protection remains an elusive goal. CCN is considered a promising networking technology which supports end-to-content communication paradigm instead of existing end-to-end communication. Although an open source implementation of CCN protocol is available, it is still in its early concept prototype stage. In this paper, we propose an enhanced CCN forwarding engine to support practical deployment of various CCN-enabled applications and services, thus demonstrating the full potential of CCN benefit. This paper also presents experimental results obtained by prototype implementation to demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed approach.
