Mobile displays use liquid crystal displays (LCDs). Such displays have various problems, such as narrow color gamut and color saturation. We propose an algorithm to solve these problems by using data processing without panel replacement. In general, the subtle problems in color adjustment are skin color conversion and color saturation. The human skin tone is the color that is typically remembered; viewers feel awkward when skin colors are converted to unnatural colors. This paper proposes as a solution a skin protection algorithm that detects human skin colors and protects skin colors from changing. It also introduces adaptive quadratic curves that reproduce natural appearances more vividly without color saturation. In addition, the system does not use field-to-field processing but pixel-to-pixel processing in real time so that the incoming image can be displayed without field flickering

In this paper, we have proposed a security camera system that displays high-definition images by using a sharply outlined display algorithm (SODA), which generates less hardware complexity because of a modified video encoder. While the proposed system uses a charge coupled device (CCD) with a complementary filter that may cause some problems in representing vivid color, we have been able to resolve the problem by mixing two signals, such as those generated by chrominance and luminance processes. In doing so, the system requires the use of a video encoder that converts the CCDs output signals into a composite video baseband signal (CVBS). Moreover, although a video encoder generally operates at 27 MHz the CCD module used in the security camera requires a particular clock frequency. Here, we have proposed that the new video encoder uses a clock to equal the CCD module at a given frequency. In doing so, the system using the encoder reduces hardware complexity and noise. The proposed system is fabricated with a test camera chip that has been manufactured by the MagnaChip 0.25 /spl mu/m CMOS process.

Gamma correction is an essential function in every display device such as CRT, plasma TV, and TFT LCD. (Po-Ming Lee, 2005) proposed gamma (γ) correction systems are developed to reduce the difference between non-linear gamma curve produced by a typical formula and result produced by the proposed algorithm. The proposed algorithms and systems are based on the specific gamma value such as 2.2, namely the formula, f(x)=xγ and the bit width of input and out data is 10bit. In order to reduce the difference, the proposed system is using the least squares polynomial which is calculating the best fitting polynomial through a set of points which is sampled. System are consisting of continuous several kinds of equations and having their own overlap sections to get more precise. Based on the algorithm verified, the systems are implemented by using Verilog-HDL. This paper compares the latest algorithm such as proposed system with the previous that of gamma system such as existing system. The former and the latter system have 2, 2 clock latency; each 1 result per clock. Each of the error range (LSB) is -1~+1, -3~+4. Under the condition of SAMSUNG STD90 0.35 worst case, each gate count is 2,564, 2,083 gates and each maximum data arrival time is 17.52,15.56 [ns], respectively

In this paper, we propose the modified SECAM video encoder and decoder system. The SECAM broadcasting standard uses frequency modulation (FM) to transmit the Db and Dr color difference information with each component having its own sub-carrier. The SECAM encoder system requires an anti-cloche filter recommended by ITU-R BT.470. However, the design of the filter is difficult, because the frequency response of the filter is very sharp. So, we convert standard filter into digital filter which could be designed more easily than analog standard filter. The proposed SECAM decoder uses two differentiators, trigonometric functions and an error-free square root to demodulate color information in chrominance processing. The BPF in decoder is used for removing color noise in chrominance and dividing CVBS into chrominance and luminance. The proposed system is experimentally demonstrated with ALTERA FPGA and TV set.

In this paper, we proposed a method about improving face tracking efficiency of face detection for AF system using the faces to the ROI. The conventional face detection system detecting faces based skin color uses the ratio of skin pixels of the present frame to detected face regions of the past frame to track the faces. The tracking method is superior in the stability of the regions but it is inferior in the face tracking efficiency. We proposed a face tracking method using the area of the overlapping region in the detected face regions of the past frame and the present frame to improve the tracking efficiency. The proposed face tracking efficiency demonstration was performed by making a film of face detection with face tracking in real-time and using the moving traces of the detected faces.

In this paper, we propose the Sequentiel Couleur Avec Memoire or Sequential Color with Memory (SECAM) video encoder system using modified anti-cloche filters and the SECAM video decoder system using a band pass filter (BPF) and an error-free square root. The SECAM encoder requires an anti-cloche filter recommended by International Telecommunication Union Recommendation (ITU-R) Broadcasting service Television (BT) 470. However, the design of the anti-cloche filter is difficult. It is because the frequency response of the anti-cloche is very sharp around rejection-frequency area. So, we convert the filter into a high pass filter (HPF) by shifting the rejection frequency of 4.286MHz to 0Hz frequency. The design of HPF becomes very easy, compared to that of the anti-cloche filter. The proposed decoder also uses an error-free square root, two differentiators, and trigonometric functions to extract color-component information of Db and Dr accurately from frequency modulation (FM) signals in SECAM systems. The proposed systems are experimentally demonstrated with ALTERA FPGA APEX20KE EP20K1000EBC652-3 device and TV sets.
