Preeclampsia affects from 5% to 14% of all pregnant women and is responsible for about 14% of maternal deaths per year in the world. This paper is focused on the use of a decision analysis tool for the early detection of preeclampsia in women at risk. This tool applies a fuzzy linguistic approach implemented in a wearable device. In order to develop this tool, a real dataset containing data of pregnant women with high risk of preeclampsia from a health center has been analyzed, and a fuzzy linguistic methodology with two main phases is used. Firstly, linguistic transformation is applied to the dataset to increase the interpretability and flexibility in the analysis of preeclampsia. Secondly, knowledge extraction is done by means of inferring rules using decision trees to classify the dataset. The obtained linguistic rules provide understandable monitoring of preeclampsia based on wearable applications and devices. Furthermore, this paper not only introduces the proposed methodology, but also presents a wearable application prototype which applies the rules inferred from the fuzzy decision tree to detect preeclampsia in women at risk. The proposed methodology and the developed wearable application can be easily adapted to other contexts such as diabetes or hypertension.

Due to the increased demand for internet services, the challenges that large data centers must handle are bigger. Therefore, in recent years the development of networks defined by software (SDN) has caught the attention of the scientific community, mainly because of the flexibility it presents in its model of centralized management, which facilitates the development of solutions according to demand of the network and / or users. Mininet is one of the most commonly tools used for the study of SDNs, as it allows to recreate data networks that can support various topologies and protocols. Nevertheless, like any other emulation software Mininet has limitations due to the restrictions of the hardware/software platform where it runs, which prevents it to scale to large networks. We present a characterization of the performance and scalability of Mininet via an experimental analysis. For this purpose, we used a typical topology for large data centers. The results let us conclude that, under some restrictions, Mininet gives results in accord with the theoretical expectation. In other cases, the emulation platform exhibits strong dependence on the performance of underlying hardware/software system as well as on the operation mode of the SDN controller used in the network.

This contribution presents a proposal for generating linguistic reports based on the study of biomedical signals of human patients. Although this topic is dealt in many previous works, there are challenges still open for the scientific community, such as the development of systems to produce reports and alerts using a human-friendly language. We present a brief review of some relevant previous works, as well as our proposal of a system based on fuzzy linguistic approach applied to the diagnosis of the preeclampsia disease that may affect pregnant women. Our system transforms numerical values of biomedical signals into linguistic values that are understandable information for the patients and the medical staff. The dataset used for testing the system contains real data from a study carried out by the Davinci UNAD Group (Colombia) on patients that suffer from preeclampsia.

EnglishThe objective of this study is to provide an in depth review of the current research about the process and the development of quality cloud applications. Papers published between 2010 and 2014 were thoroughly analyzed following a methodology of collecting primary sources of high impact and the exhaustive and critical analysis of the selected bibliographic sources. Of all sources found, 206 papers were selected and classified in eight areas. Being the quality of the software development process, the main area of interest in this work, a classification that allowed identifying five key subcategories was done: quality of service, development process quality, mobile cloud compute quality, data quality, and quality of experience. In is concluded that quality data and privacy of such data are and they will continue being critical subjects on the quality of software services.

In this paper, an integration between a computer vision system and an industrial robot is simulated, in order to select and to position simple geometric shapes which are on a moving conveyor belt. To do so, a programming code was developed in the software Matlab®, capable to do the image processing tasks needed to obtain the desired objects centroid. Subsequently, an inverse kinematics analysis is made so the trajectory that the robot must follow to position the shape is generated. The codes main features is the possibility to choose among different shapes as triangles, rectangles, circles and so on; and that the found objects centroid is presented in world units (i.g. millimeters).
