Discovery and Development of Polyetherimides

Good morning. It is a pleasure for me to be here and participate in this symposium. I would like to express my thanks to the organizers for the opportunity to talk about an area of polymer chemistry and technology in which I have been involved for a period of over fifteen years.... initially as a synthetic chemist in GE’s Corporate Research and Development Center in Schenectady, New York, and more recently in a managerial role in GE’s Plastics Business in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where this work attained commercial status in 1982.
