Murine Lymphoma: Augmented Growth in Mice with Pertussis Vaccine-Induced Lymphocytosis

Injection of Bordetella pertussis vaccine caused an excessive lymphocytosis, associated with an augmented growth of a lymphoma cell homotransplant in mice. A markedly impaired reactive cell proliferation was revealed in the spleens of the vaccine-pretreated mice after stimulation with phytohemagglutinin or Freunds complete adjuvant.

Superinfection of tumors with viruses.

Actions of interferon in tissue cultures harboring mouse leukemia virus

Passive Immunization against Murine Lymphoma

Malignant murine lymphoblasts producing both leukemia virus and virus-specific immune globulins were studied. Rabbits immunized with malignant murine lympho blasts produced antisera capable of significantly prolonging the course of lymphoma in mice. A line of malignant murine lymphoblasts gained immunoresistance to rabbit immune sera during the course of passive immunization.
