Abstract First records of fourteen species of moth flies are from Slovakia mentioned: Apsycha pusilla (Tonnoir, 1922), Clytocerus (Boreoclytocerus) splendidus Ježek & Hájek, 2007, C. (B.) tetracorniculatus Wagner, 1977, Jungiella (Jungiella) hygrophila Ježek, 1987, J. (J.) valachica (Vaillant, 1963), J. (Psychocha) laminata (Szabó, 1960), Parajungiella prikryli Ježek, 1999, Pericoma (Pericoma) exquisita Eaton, 1893, P. (P.) ljubiniensis Krek, 1969, P. (P.) vestita Vaillant & Withers, 1993, Psychoda alticola Vaillant, 1973, P. uniformata Haseman, 1907, Pneumia compta (Eaton, 1893) and P. kabelaki Omelková & Ježek, 2012. Records on the basis of larvae of Berdeniella manicata (Tonnoir, 1920), Pericoma (Pericoma) pseudoexquisita Tonnoir, 1940 and Pneumia stammeri (Jung, 1956) in the past are first time confirmed as adults from Slovakia. Some detailed important morphological characters males of two selected species Pericoma (Pericoma) exquisita and P. (P.) pseudoexquisita are figured. All credible and available data of non-biting moth flies (Diptera: Psychodidae) from Slovakia were summarized (396 localities) and many new collecting sites (visited by different collectors from 1977 to 2013) added (188 localities). A suitable grid mapping for Central Europe was used. A preliminary conservation status of 51 rare species is discussed. The speciesrichness of the psychodid fauna in Slovakia is increased by this paper to 117 species.

The previously unknown larvae and pupae of Nasiternella regia Riedel, 1914 (Diptera, Pediciidae) are described and illustrated from specimens collected in water-filled tree holes in deciduous forests in Slovakia. Brief comments on their ecology and behaviour are provided. Comparisons are made to the larvae of Nasiternella varinervis (Zetterstedt, 1851) as described by Krivosheina (2009).

We provide the first commented checklist of Armenian mayflies, based on all relevant literature and recent extensive sampling of 72 localities throughout Armenia during 2011, 2014, and 2015. Altogether 46 species are listed, eight of them reported from Armenia for the first time. One new species, Ecdyonurus (Ecdyonurus) eurycephalus sp. nov. is described (larva and male imago) based on morphological and molecular (COI) data. The species is characterized by a unique head shape in male imago and by the presence of tracheal filaments on gill plate VII in the larval stage.

Redescriptions are provided of the Palaearctic species of Thaumastoptera (s. str.) Mik, viz. T. (T.) calceata Mik, 1866 (Europe; Saudi Arabia), T. (T.) intermixta Savchenko, 1974 (Russia: North Caucasus; Georgia), and T. (T.) insignis Lackschewitz, 1940 (Portugal, Spain), and a new species, T. (T.) spathifera sp. n. (Italy: Sicily), is described. All important characters of the wing and the male terminalia are illustrated. A key to the Palaearctic Thaumastoptera (s. str.) is appended.

Males of two Bruchomyiinae species were collected during fieldwork in Central and South America. Boreofairchildia belti Ježek, Oboňa Le Pont sp. nov. and Notofairchildia motacuensis Ježek, Oboňa Le Pont sp. nov. are described from a rain forerst site in Nicaragua and a rocky ridge site in Bolivia, respectively. Differential diagnoses are included, and important diagnostic characters illustrated.

Abstract First records of the following species of the family Dolichopodidae are given for Armenia: Asyndetus latifrons (Loew, 1857), Sybistroma obscurella Fallen, 1823, Hercostomus chetifer (Walker, 1849), H. vivax (Loew, 1857), Chrysotimus molliculus (Fallén, 1823), Rhaphium discigerum Stenhammar, 1851, Sympycnus pulicarius (Fallen, 1823), Teuchophorus monacanthus Loew, 1859, and Xanthochlorus tenellus (Wiedemann, 1817). The records of A. latifrons and R. discigerum represent the first ones from Transcaucasia. Campsicnemus armeniacus sp. n. is described. The first checklist of long-legged flies of Armenia is enclosed, containing 77 species (including one subspecies).

Summary An inventory of species from families Brachystomatidae, Empididae and Hybotidae from random and non-intensive samplings from Uzh River Basin in the Ukraine is presented. Thirteen empidid species [Empis (E.) filata, Hemerodromia oratoria, Hilara flavipes, H. hyposeta, H. intermedia, H. lasiochira, H. litorea, H. media, Chelifera precatoria, C. trapezina, Rhamphomyia (Aclonempis) longipes, R. (Holoclera) nigripennis, Wiedemannia (W.) tricuspidata], and three hybotid species (Crossopalpus curvinervis, Oedalea stigmatella, Platypalpus longiseta) are recorded for the first time for the fauna of the Ukraine. Ukrainian checklists of these families are summarized for Brachystomatidae with two species, for Empididae with 57 species and for Hybotidae with 91 species.

Abstract Results of faunistic research of eight selected dipteran families (Bibionidae, Blephariceridae, Dixidae, Limoniidae, Pediciidae, Platypezidae, Ptychopteridae, and Rhagionidae) in the Uzh River Basin (Ukraine) are presented thanks to the support by the FAN (B) - Förderkreis für allgemeine Naturkunde (Biologie) in the framework of the project “Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Diptera biodiversity trip along the Uzh river, Ukraine”. Altogether 16 species are recorded as new to the fauna of Ukraine in the present paper. One species is newly recorded of the families Blephariceridae, Pediciidae, and Ptychopteridae, and two species each of the families Limoniidae and Bibionidae. Three species each belong to the families Dixidae, Platypezidae, and Rhagionidae.

Abstract Records of species of the family Limoniidae from Azerbaijan are presented. A total of 16 species are listed. Of these, 5 species represent the first records from Azerbaijan, viz. Pseudolimnophila (Pseudolimnophila) melanura Savchenko, 1984, Cheilotrichia (Empeda) minima (Strobl, 1898), Molophilus (Molophilus) crimensis Savchenko, 1976, Rhabdomastix (Rhabdomastix) filata Starý, 2004, and Rhabdomastix (Rhabdomastix) hirticornis (Lackschewitz, 1940). The species richness of the limoniid fauna in Azerbaijan is increased to 97 species by this paper.
