EnglishThis paper is the first approach to periodicity patterns in the rainfall values of the northernmost regions of Chile: Arica and Parinacota, Tarapaca and Antofagasta. After completing as many series as possible with a bivariate regression model, once monthly data were stationarized, and some randomness tests were used to recognize its absence, periodic patterns of 3, 5, 8-9, 13 and 22 years were displayed, which have to be fitted to known precipitation mechanisms.

Alonso de Ercillas work has been an object of analysis from numerous points of view, specially literary, historical and even patriotic, but scarcely there exist studies of his geographical reality. To refilling this hollow I propose to contribute some information, with special support in the treatment that the author realizes of the wetlands or higrocoras.

This paper shows a study in depth of the rainfall geographical variability in Spain and Gibraltar. Data used in the analysis were not row but percentage of the deviation from mean, so that periods of high and low precipitation were considered. Two methods were essayed: hierarchical cluster and a grouping
