Influence of Variety of Oil Temperature on Performance of Hydro-Pneumatic Suspension

Jue Yang; Junfeng Zhao; Yan Hua Shen; Chen Yue Duan

A test platform based on hydro-pneumatic suspension was set up to research the influence of temperature for the hydro-pneumatic suspension system. A series of experiments on damping holes of different diameters were carried out, and the temperature of oil and pressure on both sides of damping holes were recorded. A mathematical model of this platform was established using knowledge of fluid mechanics. The result of mathematical model was verified by experiments result, and the result is that oil temperature has little influence to working condition of suspension cylinder when it is between room temperature and 75°C.

Design and Implementation of Intelligent Vehicle Control System Based on Camera Sensor

Shubra Deb Das; Jue Yang; Muktadir Rahman Chowdhury; Mary Cindy Ah Kioon

In this paper we propose a intelligent vehicle system design with MK60N512VMD100 as the micro-controller unit and CMOS image sensor to obtain image information of the track. Our proposed comparator circuit instead of an A/D conversion to obtain the binary image enables us to achieve a bigger field of view and a higher processing speed. A unique algorithm to extract track information and to successfully extract the black guide line is devised. We also design a PID closed-loop control to adjust the rotate speed of driving electromotor and direction of steering electromotor. The results indicate that our design proposal is feasible. The intelligent vehicle could successfully achieve a high speed, while maintaining an excellent stability.

Simulation of Roll-Over Protective Structure and Falling Object Protective Structure Tests on Heavy-Duty Mining Dump Truck

Xuan Zhao; Wen Ming Zhang; Jue Yang

For evaluating the safety of the 220t dump truck cab, the roll-over protective structure/falling object protective structure with welding frame made up square steel tube is tested. The finite element model of the frame is developed. The static loading and impact loading simulations are launched by ABAQUS with ISO standard methods. The results show that all parameters accord the requirement. The welding frame cab can survive and protect the operator in roll-over or falling situation. It is a feasible, economical and flexible scheme for heavy-duty dump truck.

CFD Optimization Analysis of a Cooling Fan for Mining Dump Truck

Jue Yang; Wei Xing; Hui Fang Fan

Axial flow fans are widely used in our daily lives such as automotive cooling systems, electronic appliances and air conditioning. The factors that affect the aerodynamic performance of axial flow fans include blade number, fan diameter, hub ratio, blade angle, rotating speed, etc. This paper investigates effects of hub ratio and bladenumber on the aerodynamic performance of the axial flow fan of the radiator of a dump truck we previously designed for mining. With the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method, the fans operation condition, such as entry static pressure, effective power and flow rate, are numerically simulated with various hub ratios and blade numbers. The results of the numerical simulations are quantitatively analyzed and curves of fans performance changing with hub ratio and blade number are given. An optimization design for the cooling fan is conducted. The results of numerical simulation give conclusion that an increase of 5.6% of the vacuum static pressure and an increase of 3% of flow rate can be obtained when the hub ratio is between 500-600mm, with the same or even less power consumption. The flow rate increment reaches its peak at 8%, while power consumption efficiency is almost linearly increased, when the blade number increases to be in the range of 8 to 10. That is to say when the blade number is between 8 to 10, the fan is apparently making better use of energy. Compared with experimental method, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method can reduce design circle and lower cost. The CFD results provide guidance to improvement of design efficiency and energy utilization.

Judgement Research on the Dump Truck Frame Intensity-Mass Relationship Based on Fuzzy Theory

Chun Hui Yang; Wen Ming Zhang; Jue Yang

During the frame optimization design, according to fuzzy integrated evaluation theory, fuzzy mathematical models of intensity coefficient and mass coefficient and intensity-mass ratio coefficient of dump truck frame were established. Based on those, in terms of Sugeno fuzzy discursion method, fuzzy discursion model about frame intensity-mass relationship rationality was established, too. Through checkout of three dump truck frames of 170t and 85t and 42t, validation results were the same as the fact. So, it was concluded that the fuzzy integrated evaluation model and the fuzzy discursion model gave helpful guidance on frame designing work.

Jue Yang; Chenyue Duan; Yanhua Shen; Hongxi Zhou

A test platform based on interconnected hydro-pneumatic suspension was set up to research the pressure characteristic of damping hole of this kind suspension. A series of experiments on damping holes of different diameters were carried out, and the pressure on both sides of damping holes were recorded. The discharge characteristic of pipes, cylinders and joints in this test platform are analyzed. A mathematical and simulation model of this platform was established using knowledge of fluid mechanics. Various parameters of all hydraulic subsystems were analyzed. The mathematical model and the simulation model were verified by experiments result. These models can be used to research interconnected hydro-pneumatic suspension.

Zhao Qian Zhu; Jue Yang; Xiao Ming Zhang; Xiao Lei Li

This paper studied misfire diagnosis of diesel engine based on short-time vibration characters. Misfire of diesel engine was simulated by the vibration monitoring test. Cylinder vibration signal and top center signal were collected under different states. The short-time vibration signal of each cylinder was intercepted according to the diesel combustion sequence, effective value was calculated, and BP Neural Network model built with this character was used to diagnose diesel misfire. The result shows that this method can locate the misfire cylinder effectively, and it is meaningful for guiding the detection and repair of vehicles.

Design and Analysis for the Lift Oil Cylinder Support of Float Support Structure Based on One-Dimensional Emulation and Explicit Dynamics

Chun Hui Yang; Wei Dong Luo; Wen Ming Zhang; Jue Yang

According to design ideas of the frame of the 170 tons dump truck, and allaying effects on the frame carling from the lift oil cylinder support (LOCS), the lift oil cylinder support of float support structure (LOCSFSS) is designed by optimization technology. Then, hydraulic pressure lifting system is emulated by one-dimensional emulation, and the load curve is gotten during lifting. Based on the load curve, LOCSFSS and the frame carling are all analyzed by explicit dynamics. Afterward, contrasts and analysis are done among float support structure and the other two traditional structures of jointing on bottom steel board structure (JBSBS) and carling structure (CS). Results of that indicate LOCSFSS is obviously better than the other two structures.
