This paper presents the application of RFID (radio frequency identification) to identify and authenticate the viewer for personalized and interactive services offered by the IPTV (internet protocol television). Main purpose of the setup is to identify and authenticate the viewer, the person who is watching the TV, for parental control, payment services, consumer feedback and input etc. Using RFID reader with IPTV STB (set-top box) for authentication of viewer and service verification results in identifying viewer, using RFID tag wirelessly and at low cost. With RFID service becoming ubiquitous and its application and connectivity with home automation systems, the proposed system is thought to be widely adaptable. This Interactive identification technique also provides reliable security to protect the viewer contents, media and parental control.

This paper presents and implements a novel design technique of ACAP TS generating server. This model is designed following the standards of PMCP 3.0 and has compatibility with other set-top box middleware which follow standards. This model is designed to handle different kinds of data efficiently. This makes it easy to add various data groups and raises scalability for the system. To evaluate the proposed model, we have compared with other previous models and shows more efficiency in both TS generating and transmission time of 35% and 34.7%, respectively.

This paper presents an enhancement method for a faster transfer time of file delivery table (FDT) which is employed in T-DMB and DRM. We analyzed a fact that is responsible for delay of dynamic carousel and we improve transfer time, which is verified by simulation results. A method of faster update time for T-DMB and showing 20 % improvement is proposed.

For mobile emergency broadcast service, first of all, we shall understand transmission characteristics of each mobile broadcast system which might be appled for it and then analyse of the related disaster (emergency) standards based on emergency characteristic own. In this paper, we propose a CAP-based emergency alert broadcasting system for ATSC Mobile DTV system which has been accepted for the mobile broadcasting system in USA. Since there is no standard for emergency broadcasting using ATSC mobile DTV until now, we analyze common alert protocol in USA and then we proposed Emergency Alert Protocol for ATSC Mobile DTV based on it. And we have designed and implemented our proposed system to verify the effectiveness of it. As a result we show the possibility of emergency alert broadcasting for ATSC Mobile DTV.

Testing is an important part of quality control in the software life cycle. One of the most important issues in the software testing is to generate the appropriate test cases. Generally, the software can be tested based on product understanding. However, it is not easy to create test cases that can ensure the quality of the software according to the clients request. Especially, it is difficult to create test cases for abnormal or exceptional situations. In this paper, we present a novel approach to generate exceptional test cases at the design level of UML model. Furthermore, we describe the results of actual experiment where DAB(Digital Audio Broadcasting) parsing program is tested with previous method and also with the proposed method. The results implies that our proposed method of generating test cases for exceptional situations detect more faults than that of previous method by 7.08%.

The paper presents the performance comparison between the triangle routing and the route optimization. The paper presents not only the analytical models to compare the performance but also the threshold value to decide whether the mobile node had better use the route optimization or not. The model provides the approximate guideline when a network administrator is to implement mobile IPv6 with the route optimization under the given network environments.

With the convergence of information communication and broadcasting technology, DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) becomes the hottest issue of the next generation in the new media industry and the communications market. It is possible for people to watch seamless TV broadcast using DMB in motion, by adding video transportation specification into Eureka-147 of European digital radio broadcasting standard. DMB can select the preferred channel by using EPG (Electronic Program Guide). Since the EPG information takes a role of baseline which provides whole guidelines and services to users, its update should be performed constantly. To support scalability and compatibility on DMB, XML-based EPG and binary EPG have been proposed for the establishment of standard and these EPGs are being updated daily or weekly. However, this update period is too long to apply changes on time and also makes the update process take long time. To solve this problem, this paper proposes and implements efficient EPG system which maximizes the efficiency of EPG specification, by updating EPG of binary format per period of an hour and applying Naming Rule.
