Flat identifier to locator mapping scheme in the global internet

We propose an identifier to locator (ID/LOC) mapping scheme to resolve a locator for a flat identifier and a location update scheme to support dynamic mobility across the global Internet. The aggregation of flat identifiers is not feasible, which can lead to an explosion of binding information between ID and mapping server storing ID/LOC mapping. Also an efficient management of heavy location update traffic is becoming important with increasing numbers of mobile devices. The proposed scheme uses the bloom filter for the inter-domain mapping and the code word compression for inter-domain update message, to achieve mapping scalability and to reduce inter-domain update traffic overhead.

Serial concatenation schemes for space-time and recursive convolutional codes

Serial concatenation scheme with a space-time trellis code as the outer code and recursive convolutional codes as the inner code are compared. A new encoding/decoding structure characterized by the inner encoding by a single recursive convolutional code and the combined decoding of simultaneous symbols from multiple antennas is proposed, which gives a large performance gain over the original multiple inner encoding/separate decoding scheme and enables a decoding algorithm much simpler than the multiple inner encoding/joint decoding scheme. Simulation results for a communication system with two transmit and a single receive antennas in quasi-static, flat Rayleigh fading channels are presented.

For IMT-2000, W-CDMA system adopts the SIR based power control on uplink and downlink. This paper analyzed the uplink power control performance for high data rate transmission on the system and suggest the efficient SIR estimation method for uplink power control.

New mapping system in networks with locator/identifier separation

The locator/identifier separation is a design principle for new routing architectures that make Internet routing more scalable. Finding the location of a host requires a mapping system that returns appropriate locators in response to mapping requests for specific identifiers. In this paper, we propose a mapping system in networks with locator/identifier separation assuming that the network is divided into many administrative domains (ADs). Each AD in the proposed mapping system manages three mapping tables supporting registration, MAP-request, response, and mobility. We propose to use self-certifying ID to maintain security and privacy, and distributed hash tables (DHTs) to build a scalable mappings system. We show that the proposed scheme efficiently supports registration, MAP-request, response, and mobility.

Enhanced layered demodulation with interference cancellation by using partially decoded interferer in multimedia wireless transmission

This paper proposes and evaluates an enhanced layered demodulation (ELD) for improving bit error rate (BER) performance and complexity over conventionally used layered demodulation (LD). The layered modulated and transmitted signals are consisting of base and enhanced layers delivering scalable video coded (SVC) information in wireless media. The new idea proposed in this paper is the way of re-using partially determined survival path metric values of the base layer to make base layer excluded received signal for decoding enhanced layer. Computer simulation shows that ELD, the proposed method shows the same performance for the base layer but good BER improvement with low complexity for excluding regeneration steps used for canceling base layer signal for decoding enhanced layer.
