Design of a multi-channel gas sampling system for fuel cell with dead-ended anode configuration

To study the unevenness of the gas concentration along the fuel cell gas channel and validate the simulation results on gas concentration distribution in along-the-channel direction, a large electrochemical surface area single cell with multiple gas sample ports both in cathode and anode is designed. The sample ports are connected to micro solenoid valves and converged to gas chromatography (GC). Considering residual gases in capillary tubes, the triggering of the GC analysis should be delayed after opening the micro valves. Exact timing of the system is determined via simulation analysis, which proves that the system is credible in component analysis, and the measurement error can be alleviated by appropriate timing of valve actuation and GC analysis.
