Thermoluminescence dosimetry of rare earth doped calcium aluminate phosphors

The thermoluminescence (TL) properties of calcium aluminate (CaAl2O4) doped with different rare earth ions have been studied and their suitability for radiation dosimetry applications is discussed. It is observed that monocalcium aluminate doped with cerium is a good dosimeter having linear response up to about 4 kGy of radiation doses. Dopant concentration of 0.25 mol% cerium gives maximum TL emission. The well-defined single peak observed at 295°C can be advantageously used for high temperature dosimetry applications.

LUMINESCENCE STUDIES OF RARE EARTH DOPED CALCIUM ALUMINATE PHOSPHORS

Photoluminescence (PL) and Thermoluminescence (TL) properties of Cerium (Ce3+) and Terbium (Tb3+) singly doped and multidoped monocalcium aluminate phosphors are studied. The suitability of monocalcium aluminate material as a luminescent host is analyzed. The nature of trap centers and the possibility of energy transfer between the dopant ions are discussed. The suitability of the material for radiation dosimetry application is also studied.

FT‐IR Studies of Pure and Doped Hippuric Acid Crystals

FT‐IR spectra of pure and doped (with NaCl and KCl) hippuric acid crystals have been recorded in the regions of 400–4000 cm−1. The present study indicates that the broadening of the peak in the higher energy region is due to the interaction of sodium and potassium ion with the acid anion OH groups.
