Crystal structure of ferroelectric Bi2VO5.5

Abstract The structure of the α-phase of bismuth vanadate Bi 2 VO 5.5 has been determined using single crystal X-ray diffraction data in the space group Aba 2. The refinement involves a well defined disorder at the vanadium site, which incorporates the features of the superlattice structure with vanadium tetrahedra and oxygen-deficient octahedra that is displaced about the twofold axis.
