We report the observation of a new D{sub sJ} meson produced in B{sup +}{yields}D{sup 0}D{sub sJ}{yields}D{sup 0}D{sup 0}K{sup +}. This state has a mass of M=2708{+-}9{sub -10}{sup +11} MeV/c{sup 2}, a width {gamma}=108{+-}23{sub -31}{sup +36} MeV/c{sup 2} and a 1{sup -} spin-parity. The statistical significance of this observation is 8.4{sigma}. The results are based on an analysis of 449x10{sup 6} BB events collected at the {upsilon}(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e{sup +}e{sup -} collider.

The process e{sup +}e{sup -}{yields}K{sup +}K{sup -}J/{psi} is observed for the first time via initial-state radiation. The cross section of e{sup +}e{sup -}{yields}K{sup +}K{sup -}J/{psi} for center-of-mass energies between threshold and 6.0 GeV is measured using 673 fb{sup -1} of data collected with the Belle detector on and off the {upsilon}(4S) resonance. No significant signal for Y(4260){yields}K{sup +}K{sup -}J/{psi} is observed, and we determine B(Y(4260){yields}K{sup +}K{sup -}J/{psi}){gamma}(Y(4260){yields}e{sup +}e{sup -})<1.2 eV/c{sup 2} at a 90% confidence level. We also find evidence for e{sup +}e{sup -}{yields}K{sub S}{sup 0}K{sub S}{sup 0}J/{psi} in the same data sample.

We report a measurement of D{sup 0}-D{sup 0} mixing parameters in D{sup 0}{yields}K{sub S}{sup 0}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} decays using a time-dependent Dalitz-plot analysis. We first assume CP conservation and subsequently allow for CP violation. The results are based on 540 fb{sup -1} of data accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB e{sup +}e{sup -} collider. Assuming negligible CP violation, we measure the mixing parameters x=(0.80{+-}0.29{sub -0.07-0.14}{sup +0.09+0.10})% and y=(0.33{+-}0.24{sub -0.12-0.08}{sup +0.08+0.06})%, where the errors are statistical, experimental systematic, and systematic due to the Dalitz decay model, respectively. Allowing for CP violation, we obtain the CP-violating parameters |q/p|=0.86{sub -0.29-0.03}{sup +0.30+0.06}{+-}0.08 and arg(q/p)=(-14{sub -18-3-4}{sup +16+5+2}) deg.

We report results of a Dalitz plot analysis of the three-body charmless B{sup 0}{yields}K{sup 0}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} decay. The analysis is performed with a data sample that contains 388x10{sup 6} BB pairs collected near the {upsilon}(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e{sup +}e{sup -} collider. Measurements of branching fractions for the quasi-two-body decays B{sup 0}{yields}{rho}(770){sup 0}K{sup 0}, B{sup 0}{yields}f{sub 0}(980)K{sup 0}, B{sup 0}{yields}K*(892){sup +}{pi}{sup -}, B{sup 0}{yields}K*(1430){sup +}{pi}{sup -}, and upper limits on several other quasi-two-body decay modes are reported.We report results of a Dalitz plot analysis of the three-body charmless B{sup 0}{yields}K{sup 0}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} decay. Combining STM, LEED, and density functional theory, we determine the atomic surface structure of rutile TiO{sub 2} (110)-(1x2): nonstoichiometric Ti{sub 2}O{sub 3} stripes along the [001] direction. LEED patterns are sharp and free of streaks, while STM images show monatomic steps, wide terraces, and no cross-links. At room temperature, atoms in the Ti{sub 2}O{sub 3} group have large amplitudes of vibration. The long quasi-1D chains display metallic character, show no interaction between them, and cannot couple to bulk or surface states in the gap region, forming good atomic wires.The 10.15 MeV resonance in {sup 10}Be has been probed via resonant {sup 6}He+{sup 4}He elastic scattering. It is demonstrated that it is the J{sup {pi}}=4{sup +} member of a rotational band built on the 6.18 MeV 0{sup +} state. A {gamma}{sub {alpha}} of 0.10-0.13 MeV and {gamma}{sub {alpha}}/{gamma}=0.35-0.46 were deduced. The corresponding reduced {alpha} width, {gamma}{sub {alpha}}{sup 2}, indicates one of the largest {alpha}-cluster spectroscopic factors known. The deformation of the band, including the 7.54 MeV, 2{sup +} member, is large (({Dirac_h}/2{pi}){sup 2}/2I=200 keV). Such a deformation and the significant degree of clusterization signals a well-developed {alpha} ratio 2n ratio {alpha} molecular structure.The mixed occurrence of s-wave and p-wave contributions in a first forbidden unique Gamow-Teller {beta} decay has been investigated for the first time by measuring the beta environmental fine structure (BEFS) in a {sup 187}Re crystalline compound. The experiment has been carried out with an array of eight AgReO{sub 4} thermal detectors operating at a temperature of {approx}100 mK. A fit of the observed BEFS spectrum indicates the p-wave electron emission as the dominant channel. The complete understanding of the BEFS distortion of the {sup 187}Re {beta} decay spectrum is crucial for future experiments aiming at the precise calorimetric measurement of the antineutrino mass.

We report a study of the modes B-+/--> DK +/- and B-+/-->(DK +/-)-K-* where D-(*) decays to CP eigenstates. The data sample used contains 275x10(6) B (B) over bar events at the Upsilon(4S) resonance collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e(+)e(-) collider. The CP asymmetries obtained for DCPK are: A(1)=0.06 +/- 0.14(stat)+/- 0.05(sys), A(2)=-0.12 +/- 0.14(stat)+/- 0.05(sys) and for (DCPK)-K-*: A(1)(*)=-0.20 +/- 0.22(stat)+/- 0.04(sys), A(2)(*)=0.13 +/- 0.30(stat)+/- 0.08(sys).
