RECOGNITION of the uniqueness of many of the health needs of adolescents has led to establishing many hospital-based ambulatory and inpatient services specifically, oriented to this population.’ Segregation of patients of’ this age is providing an opportunity to study specific diseases during adolescence more intensively. The establishment in 196 il of a comprehensive and multiservice youth-oriented program within a university hospital that is not a tumor referral center afforded us an opportunity for analyzing the prevalence and types of neoplasia arising during adolescence. A clearer understanding of the types of tumors encountered during adolescence allows more accurate program planning.
